My Favorite Family Game—Beautiful, Fun, and Strategic
Azul is hands down my favorite board game. The tile-placement gameplay is easy to learn but offers plenty of strategy, making it fun for both casual players and serious gamers. Every round feels engaging, and there’s always a balance between planning your own moves and watching what others are doing. The mosaic tiles are gorgeous, with a satisfying weight and beautiful colors that make the game a joy to play and display. It’s perfect for family game nights—competitive without being overwhelming, and enjoyable for a wide range of ages. Award-winning for a reason—this game never gets old. Highly recommend! 🎲✨

Fun and Easy to Learn
This game can be played with 2-4 players and basic rules are easy to learn. We are still learning different strategies and Azul has become the game we play most often. Everyone likes playing the game, so the only drawback is the limit of 4 players. It doesn't take too long to play, so for us, that's a plus. The pieces are nice and smooth, the bag for storing tiles is made of fabric and the box is nice and sturdy. Great game!

Azul is a fun and unique game.
My hubby and I are fairly new to board games. I chose Azul because it was easy to learn and quite different from our standard card games, dice games and dominoes. The attractive artwork is colorful and cheery and all game pieces are of good quality. We have played several times the first couple days. It also encourages us to turn off the TV and spend time interacting with each other. It's definitely a keeper!

Way better than I expected, perfect for date night
Man, I had never heard of this game until a buddy brought it over a few weeks ago, and my wife and I were hooked instantly. It's a quick 30-minute game, which is perfect for winding down after the kids are in bed, and while it looks simple with all the colorful tiles, there's actually a solid amount of strategy to it. We loved it so much we pretty much ordered a copy before he even left. This is definitely a great pickup for couples who want a light, competitive two-player game, though you can play up to four people. If you’re looking for a huge, complicated Euro-style board game, this isn’t it, but for a fun, repeatable strategy game, Azul is an absolute 5/5 winner for us.

Quality gameplay, ca. 30min/game. Brain & beauty for 2-4 won't get old soon.
Quality gameplay, quality set. Less action, more strategy and no direct interaction. Just had a first game with just 2 adults yesterday. We misunderstood a few points after skimming the rules quickly, but might have had more fun even that way. ;-) We watched a 3min video after and it's really easy to grasp that way. Looking forward to try with more players next occasion! • Length is great We like that it takes just 20-30min per game, so much easier to fit than longer games. It can fill in gaps during game nights and is brain-fun for kids and adults. • Gameplay In a nutshell, take turns to pick tiles smartly for yourself or against others' plans and stack them into strategically good slots to collect bonus points and not malus. You don't interact directly during other's turns, but use that time to anticipate their strategy and plan your own. That can go as deeply as you wish, or just go by guts for a quick and relaxed round. • Ages Anyone who can learn chess can play this easily. We'd play this with board game-smart kids from around 6, meaning they don't mind sitting down and listening to a few ruled. Short attention span kids from age 8 will benefit once they get into the mindset. • Game set The set's nice: Comes in a sturdy box, thick cardboard, durable, high quality print, beautiful, good size fabric pouch to draw tiles and pretty details down to the plastic inset mold. We don't love plastic and hoped the tiles would be wood, they're not. We're also a bit disappointed two of the five colors have no patterns. However, they're thick, easy to handle and printed on both sides. It's easy to enjoy the game!

A beautiful and engrossing game that's reasonably easy to learn.
AZUL is a gorgeous piece of work. I've never opened the box without having someone, gamer or "civilian," say OOOOH! AAAAH! When they see it. The rules are reasonably simple, once you explain the two-phase nature of every round of play; however, there is a bit of wonkiness with the scoring. It looks simple but there's enough strategy and variety in it to reward multiple plays. There's a lot of room within this deceptively simple setup to try different styles of play. Your game experience could be contemplative OR aggressive, depending on you and your opponents' temperaments. It's possible to play this game as a kind of "multi-player solitaire" wherein you and your opponents are just trying to make pretty pictures on your own player boards. Or you can go on the attack and do your best to deny your opponents the tiles they need and leave them with a bunch of penalty tiles they are forced to take. If you are just getting further into the board game hobby (moving past "gateway games") and getting into something deeper, or perhaps have a friend who is just getting into it, this is a great game to ask for or give as a gift. It's maybe a bit too complex for younger players or for people who are complete novices in the new realm of board games, but, hey, they can always just admire the pretty tiles. I would give it five stars but a) I hardly ever do that unless a game is a stone-cold classic and b) the rule book was not entirely helpful. But don't let that stop you from getting this excellent game, especially at a reasonable price.

Beautiful, easy to learn, and very fun!
I bought this as a birthday gift for a friend. We've only played it a few times so far with one of our other friends, but we all really enjoy it so far and see it as a great addition to the board games we love to play on a regular basis. The tiles are really gorgeous, well designed, and feel nice to place around the board and on the table. Games are also short enough that it helps you pick it up quickly and try out different approaches/strategies relatively quickly. I highly recommend it, I'm honestly thinking of buying myself a copy too!

Azul is a fantastic game for 4 players. We play this often and everyone always remarks about how much they enjoy the physical feel of the tiles, which really adds to the quality of the board game. It’s easy to learn and games last the perfect length. Overall worth what we paid for it. Would recommend this game for sure.
