The holes were to small for the bolts provided. Had to drill them out. No instructions provided. The youtube video was semi-helpful. It was cheap and it works so far.

My attic steps hung down about 3 inches. The end of my springs seemed stretched out when they were collapsed. I measured mine and they were 1.5" longer than the new ones. Install was simple and it pulled it much tighter. It was worth a try and it solved my problem.
