This is a critical part if you are using the Zoom F3 field recorder as the recorder itself is very small. The free software that you will use on your cell phone to run the F3 is very well coded by Zoom and makes the use of the F3 VASTLY more convenient and enjoyable. Zoom should sell this BT adapter with the F3, but that's not a matter for this review. You need this - buy it. The Zoom F3 recorder is excellent, but a pain to deal with if you aren't using the mobile phone app that connects through this BT adapter.

This worked great and allowed us to control our Zoom LiveTrak L-20 mixer with an iPad. It works great. It is plug and play. You plug it into the mixer and then open the app on the iPad and the invitation to connect opens immediately. We have used it a few times and it has always connected easily. It allows my sound man to sit walk around and hear the sound and make adjustments as needed while still leaving the mixer board on the stage so that a "snake" is not needed. Overall, I am pleased with the Zoom mixer and this wireless dongle. I only wish that they would make the app for Android as well as iPad.

Initially, the Bluetooth connection is not established on the first attempt; however, after trying again, it connects and performs adequately but lacks stability. Occasional disconnections and a slight millisecond lag are observed. Overall, the performance is satisfactory, but it requires a software update for bug fixes. Additionally, having an offline mode for patching via the phone and then syncing to the device upon connection would enhance the user experience.
