RodeNTH-MIC Headset Mic for NTH-100M , Black

I was not really expecting the highest quality audio from this mic but was very pleasantly surprised when I hopped into a discord call with my friends and they didn't notice a crazy difference in audio quality from my at2020. The kit comes with everything you need to "convert" your NTH-100s to a headset and overall is very high quality. The microphone quality is much better than I expected and combined with the quality of the headphones I would definitely recommend this setup for a "hifi" setup for enjoying media/gaming and chatting in discord. I do have one minor complaint that being the mic doesn't have any kind of pop filter or foam protector so I did notice the mic to suffer a bit when it came to pops. Overall though a very high quality mic for a great pair of headphones, if you already own the NTH-100 this is a fantastic solution to add a high quality mic to your setup with little added gear or if you are looking for a more hifi headset then you can purchase the NTH-100 with the mic as a bundle and save a bit of money which would be well worth it.

The NTH-100 is a first class set of studio headphones that will earn you respect in most settings. This item--the NTH-MIC is an add on microphone for the NTH-100 headphones. This opens up a whole new range of use cases for the headphones. If you're familiar with decent video game headsets you know how this works--just slide the mic's connector into the designated spot on the headphones and give it a twist. If you want to ditch the mic, just do the opposite. The microphone is very high quality--you could definitely use it for podcasting and in a pinch you could use it on the actual radio. It would also work for gaming if you so choose. You can buy the NTH-100 headphones from Rode with the microphone included, but if you need a replacement mic or want an extra here you go. Highly recommended!

The headset cans are great but the mic connector is not engineered well in my experience. When it is connected, the mic sounds great as expected. Rode otherwise is excellent for all its products.

Back when these headphones first released, I left a review on them praising them pretty highly. They had problems, sure. Mainly the microphonics in the cable. Tie a loose knot to fix that, by the way!I made the comment that I thought these were some of the best headphones for gaming I'd ever listening to. But what about a mic? Better than any gaming headset mic I've ever heard? This mic sounds like any gaming headset mic. Meaning, its not great but fine for communicating with your teammates in games. The noise cancelling is decent but it makes you sound like you're on the phone. It is pretty sensitive so you can keep the mic away from your mouth and it will still pick up your voice. This mic may be compatible with other headphones if you can fit the 3.5 jack. This mic has a groove that you have to line up with the NTH-100M and then give it a quarter turn to lock in. In the box is a TRRS female splitter to dual TRS male jacks (mic and headphones) and a TRRS male to male cable with one end of it having that quarter turn lock for the NTH-100M. Just for fun, I plugged this mic into my phone's 3.5mm audio jack and the mic works.

I've tried all kinds of stuff during the pandemic to make my zoom sessions clearer and sound better. I tried microphones, lavalier mics, wireless mics. Those sounded okay, but the set-up was onerous and not too friendly. I knew to use headphones but I hated earbuds, so I decided to buy the Rode headphones. I was using the Rode wireless mics, but when I saw this mic attached to the headphones, I decided to order it. It sounds good and is an easy step for headphones and mic set-up. Basically set it up in the bluetooth and Zoom menus once and you're on your way. You can buy this mic together with the headphones but I didn't so I had to get them separate. Anyway, this is an ideal and very clear and easy set-up for podcasting, zoom meetings, maybe even singing. I know my search is finally over!

I requested this because the farm caretaker who helps my grandfather at our vacation site owns the NTH-100M headset, and he lost his mic sometime during this winter. I was so happy to see this one show up on my recommended page! He knew exactly what he was getting because he had been using another one before losing it.According to him, this mic provides good quality sound and picks up voices really well. Most importantly, the lightweight design makes it comfortable to wear for extended periods without any discomfort. Lastly, he said the mic is also very easy to adjust to get the perfect placement. I would definitely recommend this mic if you're looking for one to use with the NTH-100 Headset

Nice product!Looks and sounds great!Just a minor nit. I had assumed that the mic can be fixed either on left or right side, but apparently the mic can be fixed only to the right side can. It is technically possible to fix the mic to the left can too, but then it will be curving in a direction away from the mouth!
