Hands down one of the best... For this price point... Rocks the house . 10" sub hits pretty hard... I've bought 3!.. waited for them to go on sale... 600 bucks is too high.. so I got them around 400. So I left in my cart waiting for sales.. I have 2.. one inside house. Other is outside TV.. it rattles windows . I bought my daughter one for when she moved to her own apartment.. she loves it too.. hope this helps. JBL is good stuff.. and the value is there when caught on sale.

The JBK Bar 500 sound bar met my expectations and I am very pleased with my pyrchase. The shipper did not iver promise the delivery time. I fact the sound bar arrived several days before the promised date. Unpacking and coonection to my TV went smoothly. Because I am not knowledgeable in how electronic devices work, I had some trouble understanding the setup process. The JBL Support representative walked me through the process very carefully and with admirable patience. I cannot comnend JBL highly enough for their support. Now that the speaker is set up properly I am enjoying the full spectrum of sound from the television and other devices as well. The JBL sound bar replaced a surround sound system with a tuner snd multiple speakers that was damaged by a lightening strike. The sound quality is equal to, or even better than that sound system. I have been particularly impressed with the sub woofer performance. As I watched the movie Braveheart again, the sound of battle and especially of the thunder charging horses transported made the battles of Stirling Bridge and Falkirk come to life. I commend this product to thise who are looking for a sound bar that does what it supposed to do.

I recently purchased the JBL Bar 500 and I’m very impressed with the sound quality. The audio is clear, powerful, and the bass from the subwoofer is deep without being overwhelming. Dolby Atmos really adds a great surround sound experience, especially for movies and TV shows. Setup was quick and easy, and the design looks sleek and modern. Overall, it’s a great soundbar that delivers excellent performance and value. Highly recommended!

I am extremely happy with the JBL Bar 500: 5.1-Channel soundbar with MultiBeam™ and Dolby Atmos. I returned a couple units that were good but I wanted more bass and boy, I got with this unit. The subwoofer sets this unit apart from others in the same $300-400 price range. With the ability to control it from the included remote and with even more user controls from a smart phone, you cant beat the sound quality and customizable equalizer settings for music, movies, etc. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to Listeners who enjoy bass and dont want to spend $1000

While you will never get the separation a surround system can provide, this a an excellent way to get outstanding sound quality and plenty of bass for your TV viewing. The dialog is clear when watching shows and movies and there are some pretty cool effects produced from both surround and Atmos sources. Music also sounds very good. Other than the lack of stereo separation and the absence of rear speakers, this is a very good system. I do feel like the app could provide more functionality though.

Sound is good.. Not super loud on high...needs some better controls to adjust the bass and treble.. Probably going to hook it up with a DAC ir preamp that has more adjustments available and update review

I ordered this JBL Bar 500: 5.1-channel soundbar. When it arrived at my dwelling the packaging looked as if it had been used for shipping this item too many times. The edges and seams of the boxes showed signs of being torn and retaped many times. I had a professional installer install the sound bar and subwoofer so I knew that it was handled with care. Being that Amazon doesn’t advertise this product anymore I figured that I had probably purchased the last one available. Having now used it for six weeks I find that I can hear it producing beautiful surround sounds. After about 3 to 5 minutes, it shuts itself off completely and will not come back on for at least an hour! Neither the external switch nor the remote with new batteries, will turn it back on! I have a feeling that I was sold someone’s junk! According to the seller it is not replaceable or refundable! Do not buy this Model if it ever gets advertised again!

Excelente calidad de sonido. Los graves son de cine, muy profundos cuando la película lo amerita. Las frecuencias medias y altas no son muy cristalinas, pero son suficientemente definidas para un equipo de entrada. 500w que se sienten en lugares medianos. Fácil de emparejar tanto en Bluetooth, Chrome CAST y con el HDMI. Muy recomendable si se encuentra a un precio menor a diez mil pesos.

The subwoofer is 10/10 in concrete apartment it very difficult to have a good sound but this one did the job and i tested bose and none worked good in concrete, I didnt have to pair the sub with the bar it was already pair. 1st thing to do is buy a very good HDMI cable quality get the best you can, 2nd thing is UPDATE THE FIRMWARE ON WIFI because purevoice have a very important update that make it BAD/GOOD and the update is a massive change for purevoice quality sound, without the update it hisssss SSSSSSSS it was very bad before the update, DO THE UPDATE OR YOU GOING TO RETURN IT 100%. **IF YOU WANT GOOD SOUND FOR OLD PEOPLE DO NOT CALIBRATE BECAUSE IT GOING TO REDUCE CENTRAL SPEAKER (VOCAL ONE) FOR ATMOS ON SIDE SO YOU GOING TO UP AND DOWN VOLUME NON-STOP WITH VOCAL TOO LOW AND EFFECT TOO HIGH** 3rd thing is setup your tv setting and use all potencial of a quality hdmi cable. You can go PCM (on tv) ** Do not dolby digital plus for old people it going mess the vocal just use normal dolby digital** and uncompressed audio quality, with a very good hdmi cable you can get best possible song from tv. Check every setting and tune it/test it **TUNE IT UNTIL YOU LOVE THE SOUND IF NOT KEEP ADJUST TV/CABLE BOX/JBL ONE APP 4th: put the app on a tablet/phone and adjust the equalizer to your taste (For old people it can be flat you be fine with nice bass and perfect vocal IF YOU NOT USED CALIBRATE FEATURE). **This is a very good product if you take the time to adjust it and if you buy it for a 60+ years old do the update/setupOnTv/setupOnAPP take your time and you get what you want** ***DO NOT CALIBRATE IT BECAUSE IT RUIN THE SOUND BY MAKING VOCAL SUPER LOW AND ALL OTHER EFEFCT SUPER HIGH*** Massive strong powerfull bass (i use level 3 if not calibrate and 1 if calibrate for young taste of the 5 and is strong). Clear voice dialog very good for 60 years old + people (IF NOT CALIBRATE AND NOT USE DOLBY DIGITAL PLUS). JBL Subwoofer work on concrete condo and thats pretty rare, i tried bose and returned the bose. If you can get it at 30% or more discount get it. If you buy it for your father is a good one the purevoice make all dialog very loud and clear. the bose tv speaker was good BUT the voice was canned into the bass and was hard to hear by old peoples even with the vocal mode ON. ***WARNING THE JBL ONE APP IS A MESS AND EACH TIME YOU OPEN IT MAYBE IT RESET WHOLE THING AND CANT CONNECT TO THE SOUNDBAR UNTIL A RESET OF THE SOUNDBAR *BLOCKING WIFI* BUT THE JBL ONE APP IS ONLY GOOD FOR UPDATE THE FIRMWARE ONCE THEN AFTER YOU FINE TO NEVER USE IT AGAIN EVER*** For young people in a house that want mega bass with mega effect do the dolby digital plus and calibrate you get loud home theater. BUT FOR 60+ YEARS OLD DO NOT CALIBRATE OR USE DOLBY GITAL PLUS STAY WITH DOLBY DIGITAL NOT THE PLUS THEN YOU GET THE BEST QUALITY FOR VOCAL AND A SOUND THAT YOU WONT KEEP UP/DOWN EACH 5 MINUTES. Remember for old peoples: NO CALIBRATE EVER (IF YOU DID JUST RESET THE BAR) AND NO DOLBY DIGITAL PLUS GO NORMAL DOLBY DIGITAL. with this you get the best movie sound quality and a subwoofer who punch but not like young kid in a sport car the whole building going to hear. (the PCM is the best sound possible for old people and no need to turn up/down volume every scene) trouble tips: If you just buy it and have some trouble with no audio sometime or stop working after a day or 3, this is because of the hdmi cable if you have a bad cable you can turn off the eARC to go in only normal ARC inside the tv setting. try look for a eARC quality hdmi cable if you not want any trouble.

Bought this as an upgrade from a cheap 2.0 Vizio Soundbar. Needless to say this will impress anyone coming from tv speakers or a similar low end sound bar. Provides a much more deep and immersive experience that fills my living room. Movies like Dune and Top Gun Maverick really hit. PS5 games offer a much more immersive and full soundscape with tons of bass from the massive subwoofer. I recommend but there’s a few caveats to look out for. I’m using this with a high refresh rate 4k screen connected to a PC and PS5. I’m also using an eArc HDMI connection with the soundbar rather than optical. You will need to do the same if you wish to use Dolby Atmos rather than just using 5.1. Using my TV’s built in streaming apps like Netflix and Prime provides seamless access to Dolby Atmos (so long as the media itself supports it). PC requires a Dolby program available from the Windows App Store to enable Atmos. PS5 support for games and streaming can be enabled from the PS5 settings. The one hiccup I’ve encountered is oddly 4K BluRay support via the PS5’s disc drive. It seems I can’t enable it without running my PS5’s HDMI through the sound bar itself which would then lose my ability to take advantage of TV and PS5’s high 120hz refresh rate (not a trade I’m happy with). I could probably circumvent this using a seperate Blu Ray player however it’s not a battle I’m too worried about at this time. My one other caveat is due to the use of eArc and thus taking up one of my two 4k 120hz hdmi ports I will have to purchase a switcher to avoid having to replug my PC or PS5’s HDMI chord depending which one I’m trying to use (and utilize that high refresh rate port). Not a big deal as these can be purchased for fairly cheap but something to be mindful of depending on your tv’s port situation. I’m really pleased overall though. If you have the money and you’re on the fence it’s a really impressive upgrade that can save you most of the headache of building a surround sound setup
