Mosi-Guard Stick 40 ml

These are a great alternative to the toxic deet based sprays. Mosies love me and I get bitten when everyone else is left alone. So I am always looking for decent repellent. This is probably my repellent of choice now as it is so comfortable to wear, no greasy film or toxic worries. It doesn't melt plastic but does have a pretty strong smell of lemons and eucaliptos. It lasts all evening and it does work well at preventing bites. Like all repellents however you still get the odd bite probably where you missed a bit. My experience is no repellent works 100% if the mossies are hungry and this performed as well as deet spray in Thailand. Its other advantages are its a solid stick similar to deodorant ones so no spillages or breakages to worries about and can go in hand luggage. It also seems to last longer than the sprays as there is less wastage. One stick could last 2 weeks but I always take 2 just in case. I believe these were developed by MASTA who are tropical medicine experts so if its good enough for them its good enough for me.

I get bitten in every single place that I go to, UK or abroad.. The insects come out of hibernation (if they hibernate) and scope me out at all hours of the day, in every season, in every country. I always take daily anti-histamines before and during my trips abroad and through the summer in the UK and always end up needing a (holiday dampening) doctors visit as i always require stronger anti-allergy tablets and usually antibiotics due to the severity and number of bites and this is when using the silly 97% DEETs and long trousers etc - so I take prevention quite seriously!! I didn't want to use DEET on holiday in Cuba (it smells horrendous, feels like it burns my skin and apparently is quite bad for you) so I tried this in combination with the incognito spray, odourless garlic capsules, high dose vitamin B complex and loratadine (daily anti-histamine tablets) and received THREE bites in total - TOTALLY UNHEARD OF! I don't know how much was this stick and how much was my month prior tablet preparation but the stick smells lovely and lemony. It is strong but pleasant and doesn't make your eyes water like DEET, it glides on easily and gave me an additional layer of protection which you didn't have to wait to dry. You can't see traces of it on your skin or clothes and it isn't sticky. The ingredients all seem natural and there's plenty left after nightly use and reapplication on holiday. I will definitely keep it in my anti-bug repertoire as a ground level method of defence.

Usually I get bitten to death in Italy but only 3 bites gained in the whole 9 days I was there. Great to have a stick option as I find sprays get up your nose & in your lungs rather than on your body! Strong smelling but not unpleasant like some makes.

Hands down, the BEST mosquito repellent ever. I'm one of those unfortunates who have horrible reactions to mosquito bites (seriously, my husband started calling me Mr Krabs after a bite on my hand swelled so much it looked like a mutant crab claw). I've always had to put up with using hardcore, deet-based repellents which stink, are sticky, and melt off my nail varnish. Enter Mosi-Guard...nice scent, no stickiness, easy to apply and, most important of all, zero mosquito bites. I won't travel anywhere without it now.

Used to use this repellent for years but couldn’t find it in the shops anymore, so pleased to see it on Amazon. Have used it for all the family, kids included, and works brilliantly. Has a citrus eucalyptus scent, which is somewhat strong to begin with but I I don’t mind as it’s not unpleasant. Besides it keeps the biting insects well away! The stick is so easy to use, no fuss, no leaks. Handy size for travel too.

Received in March 2025 Expiry date was January 2025. This was a replacement for one received with the same issue. Not good enough!

Keeps away bugs but this stuff stinks. Would be 5 stars as it works very well but I hate the smell so much I won't use it.

Non credevo avrei mai acquistato un anti-zanzare in stick eppure si è rivelato il migliore che abbia mai usato. L'ho acquistato due anni fa su consiglio di una signora spagnola che vive da 20 anni in Africa orientale. Mi serviva un prodotto ad alta protezione, che fosse il più possibile naturale, che potesse essere trasportato nel bagaglio a mano in aereo e che mi proteggesse da zanzare africane. Questo prodotto ha soddisfatto tutte le mie esigenze e non solo. Dopo due anni lo uso ancora (funziona un po' meno col tempo, ma non si è ancora consumato perciò lo tengo), ha un buon odore e in Africa ero costretta ad applicarlo su tutto il corpo almeno una volta al giorno o se non altro a seguito di ogni doccia, quindi minimo 2 volte al giorno a Mombasa. Non mi ha mai dato problemi di irritazioni o altro, ha sempre tenuto alla larga le zanzare (che in genere mi divorano in pochi secondi) e se dimenticavo qualche centimetro di corpo, allora mi pungevano solo lì. Son tornata in Italia dopo alcuni mesi senza aver mai preso la malaria, usando questo stick come unica protezione (la notte avevo la zanzariera intorno al letto, ma di giorno no e le zanzare attaccavano a tutte le ore). Insomma è un prodotto perfetto e sicuramente lo comprerò di nuovo.
