UCO Pac-Flat Reflector for the Original Candle Lantern

Not quite as good quality as they use to be but it will still do the job.

Excellent at directing the light downwards. Used by a camp fire and still to try in my tent. Well pleased.

But the reflector does add a small but noticeable focus of both light and heat below the UCO lantern. It fits together nicely over the handle of the UCO lantern and packs flat as stated. If you're a weight conscious Trekker then you wouldn't miss this. If not, you'd probably wish you'd have bought it just to see for yourself.

Works well, a bit fiddly to.put together the first time. Be carfull though, as it is thin steel, it will cut you if you hold it wrong or it springs apart during construction/deconstruction.

The reflector does a good job of maximizing the efficiency of the candle by redirecting the light downwards. The two parts link together easily and fit securely over the top of the lantern. It disassembles and packs away flat for easy storage. As a handy bonus you can flip the reflector upside-down and place it over a camping mug to use as a holder for coffee filters. The only gripe I have with the product is that some of the edges seem a little sharp so caution is advised during assembly and dismantling. Verdict: improved finishing on the edges would make this product a highly recommendable upgrade for the Uco lantern, but as things stand it is still a useful addition.

makes a massive difference to the light thrown out from the candle... (bear in mind it still is only one candle in the lantern!) but with it on found the tent light enough to do jobs and read a book etc... (also bear in mind i was in a 3man tent!)

Does a good job of reflecting light down and around without taking up much space. Fab.

"Flat" Reflectors were bent in the middle of the disks. Makes it impossible to put them together.

This is a very simple device which does exactly what it's supposed to do: reflect light downward from a hanging candle lantern. It's well-designed and reasonably well-made of stainless sheet metal with brass locking buttons. It may be a little overpriced considering its simplicity, but if you need it, and you probably do, nothing else really works as well. To keep it working well you may want to be fanatical about keeping it free of scratches and fingerprints. You may want to polish it occasionally with some kind of stainless or chrome polish. The only inconvenient thing about this product is that it doesn't really fit very well in any of the various bags or sacks designed to carry candle lanterns, and you must be careful how you carry it to avoid the aforementioned scratches. I've presently got mine padded and packed in my cookset, which is effective and not entirely inappropriate given its utility as a coffee filter cone. A very useful item and highly recommended.
