Weathermeter Smart Phone Meter - Blue

Leader of the pack...bluetooth works perfectly with my app. but had to look on the web for instructions as to how to set it up...no guidance as supplied. Very good sensitivity and performance considering it costs much less than meters costing a lot more. Portable, pocket sized power weighing just a few grams.

Quite possibly the worst ever purchase I've made on Amazon! Turning on the meter it flashes a blue Bluetooth light, which given the unit is blue is pointless unless your in the dark! Trying to see it outside is impossible. Once connected to your phone which seems to be hit and miss, it shuts done after 60ish seconds. You then have to reconnect it which given the above means you stand there pressing the Bluetooth button not knowing whether your switching it on or off. If it's off for 5 minutes you have to recalibrate the compass to get it to give a sensible direction, which means turning round and round in circles waiting for it to get a reading. The pressure meter is useless, I fly commercial aircraft, big ones, and the day this meter arrived I'd been working so knew exactly what the pressure was. This unit was 27 millibars different. Today when I switched it on, it read -826mb, now that is low pressure! On the limited times it appeared to work it did give correct wind direction and speed. I bought this to go shooting, so having done the initial round and round dance I connected to my ballistic calculator. Saw the result, went to check the meter again and it had switched off. Press on, is it on? Don't know can't see the light, eventually after hiding under my coat I established the blue light was on and connected. Spent that long under the coat that I now need to recalibrate compass again! Round and round again, get reading and I'd been faffing that long trying to get it to work the wind had changed,never got to check the reading! Must have looked weird, bloke with a rifle spinning round and round in a field and then hiding under a coat. Thanks Weatherflow! Asked for a replacement to give it the benefit of the doubt, will report back.

I was disappointed enough to return this item. It did not work properly with any android device in the house, even with weatherflows own app. Could not get it to work at all with the other app I wanted to use( Strelok). Weatherflow support were excellent and did their level best to solve my issues but eventually suggested it was faulty. By that time my confidence in the device had completely gone. A quick search suggests there are lots of android users with similar issues to those I experienced. I might try this again in 6 months when some of the kinks are worked out...

This product is a really easy way to monitor the wind when you don't have the time to install a full anemometer.

NO NO NO, just don't buy this product! The app is shoddy, constantly crashes, the meter is a complete tech failure too! I got it out of the box, it asked to calibrate the compass, so I did, all seemed well... But as soon as it turns off, everything is reset 😡👎👎 when you go to use it again, you have to calibrate the compass again (involves blowing on the fan and turning around in circles). Not something you want to be doing EVERY time you turn it on to use it. After a day talking to weatherflow, and questioning what was wrong with the app and why it crashed upon firmware update, they said they could repeat the issue but couldn't tell me when it would be sorted; great *sigh*. After email after email, including the correspondents not reading what is written and asking questions more than once, and then the problem passed onto other people at weatherflow again not reading the described problem I finally get someone telling me they think my meter is faulty, YAY 🎉🎉, and they would replace it for me as soon as I give them my address, the issue being that as soon as I've given them my UK address (I gather they were expecting US), they no longer reply to my emails. I'd have stuck it out to get the the bottom of the issues, but sadly it appears to be an unfinished business, selling unfinished tech, advising unfinished software; not a good combination at all. I dread to think what the reliability will be out in the field with Strelok hahaha Anyway guys, don't waste your time if you get issues. I've finally sent mine back to the retailer and settled for a cheap eBay anemometer when does the job fast and simple. Edit I have tried the app on Android 5-6-7-8-8.1 and all of which crash when attempting to update firmware. Also the plastic 3.5mm jack has molding marks causing hairline fractures, another failure! Could have been a good product, but fails miserably due to poor hardware backed up by shoddy support. STAY AWAY

The wind meter I had before worked great, but really diggin' the new Weathermeter for full onsite reports and sharing to the wind alert and ikitesurf apps. Not having to plug it into the phone is great- and for wind and air temps, this is perfect. Pressure, wind chill, humidity and the other meteorology features take a little time to comprehend for us regular folks, but I'm learning. This makes it simple. A friend who is a TV forecaster has one and says he loves it and his performs just fine (shares the info on his twitter account all the time). It really helps to see all of those readings in the information. Probably will be setting this up on the beach like a mini-weather station for the other kiters. We live off the wind! Anyways, you guys seem to be on top of it for this kind of product. Well worth the money! P.S. Any way to have these go out as wind alerts like you have in your apps?

Partendo dal presupposto che mi occupo di vela, per lavoro, ho trovato questo prodotto eccellente per il mio scopo. Si collega in un attimo con Ipod e il vantaggio della connessione bluetooth consente un uso continuato per tutta la giornata, regsitrando costantemente la direzione del vento e l'intensità. Chiaramente va installato su una apposita banderuola segnavento, che mi sono auto costruito . Mi sento di consigliarla vivamente a chi vuole uno strumento valido a basso costo. Unico neo l'eventuale connessione con i dispositivi Android. Difatti non lavora con tutti o almeno con i miei dispositivi Asus, ancora non gira.

Habe den Windmesser und die dazugehörige Android App auf einem Huawei Smartphone, einem NoName-Smartphone und eine Huawei Tablet getestet und bei allen drei funktionieren Gerät und App. Kalibrierung des Magnetsensors geht auf Anhieb und danach wird die Windrichtung ziemlich genau angegeben. Hält man das Gerät in der Hand, erfolgt die Temperaturanzeige natürlich verfälscht. Ergo sollte man das Gerät mittels Klinkenstecker (Attrappe aus Metall) aufstecken. Ein NoGo ist die fehlende Beschreibung in der Verpackung. Über die Android App kann man ein Youtube Clip anschauen. Nun ja! Trotzdem gut
