Pretty good!
Pretty good for beginners learning about printmaking, a little disappointed with the lack of step by step( not at how to guide) but something that examples the process more.

Arts Integration and Art Teacher Resources
I originally found this text at the library. I was studying for my art teacher test. While reading I began creating lessons using information from the text. I love this book. There is so much good information, I wanted my own copy. I will probably buy a copy or two as gifts for my friends who enjoy printmaking.

Okay if a bit dated
The Printmaking Bible, Revised Edition: The Complete Guide to Materials and Techniques is a solid, serviceable reference that does a good job laying out the fundamentals of traditional printmaking. The book is clearly organized and covers a wide range of processes—relief, intaglio, lithography, and screenprinting—with enough technical explanation to be useful, especially for beginners or those returning to print after time away. The step-by-step descriptions and diagrams provide a dependable foundation, and the breadth of techniques included makes it a convenient single-volume overview. That said, the content feels a bit dated in places. Materials, studio practices, and workflow assumptions reflect an earlier era, with limited attention to newer emulsions, safer alternatives, hybrid digital processes, or contemporary studio setups. While the core techniques remain relevant, readers working in modern shops or looking for current best practices may find themselves supplementing this book with more up-to-date resources. Overall, it’s an okay reference—useful for fundamentals, but not fully reflective of how many printmakers work today.

A reference book; look at it in a library
I didn’t much like this book, and I returned it, which I rarely do. It’s more of a reference book, (fairly big and heavy) an overview of different types of printmaking, with bio’s of a number of printmakers. A lot of of the included examples are by the authors themselves. It’s worth taking a look at, if you can find it in a library or a classroom, but it’s a bit outdated, a bit dull, and not that easy to read. There are many more recent books on printmaking techniques available now that are more helpful, with better how-to instructions.
