Unknown substance with contradictory labels. See pic for reference.
Ordered Potassium metabisulfite. The package I received contains an unknown substance, as on the package itself it states, “potassium metabisulfite,” while the outer packaging states, “ potassium bicarbonate.” See attached pic for reference. Potassium metabisulfite (𝐾2𝑆2𝑂5) is used as an antioxidant and preservative, while potassium bicarbonate (𝐾𝐻𝐶𝑂3) is used to correct acidity by increasing pH.
