Quality of the board feels a little meh- like leaning on to cheap but sturdy, the locks aren’t solid enough to keep still but they do the job of keeping the case closed. The pieces ,however, I for one can say they feel hefty, the magenta aren’t that great but they keep the pieces still- that I will say. Th best thing I can say is, if you treat it with respect and care it should last a while- I’ll write another review on this board a year from now- quote me, letting y’all know how it’s holding up. The foam where the pieces are store is kinda eh, but it’s a tight fit so the pieces won’t be falling off any time soon and that’s important. Personally, don’t let anyone damage anything you like or buy… this should be common knowledge. The quality of the design of each piece is quite admirable and I do think it’s my best chess set I’ve bought so far. 8 out of 10 In my opinion

Stunning chess set that we're proud to display between sets. Pieces are heavy weighted and easy to move around on the board. I bought it for my husband. He really is impressed with the looks, feel and function.

Bought as a gift for my son. He’s always wanting to teach me chess and loves to play. This is a very nice set, magnet strength could be strong as I didn’t notice anything magnetic about it. But it is a very nice set, price was right, very pretty. My son liked it a lot.

Awesome set the only reason it got 4 stars is because the white knight came bulged on the bottom and sits sideways alittle but other than that it's great.

Very nice set! Board is build to nice quality, with nice hinges and latch’s. The foam inside is very nice to keep the pieces in place and nice shape. The pieces look great and have a really good feel to them. We will enjoy this set for years.

For the price, it’s a quality chess set! I’ve dropped a few of the pawns on the concrete and they stayed intact and didn’t really have any signs of damage. Given it was a light drop and slammed down on the ground like Thors hammer. It looks great! People have said how beautiful it is several times. It’s a very convenient travel case and the foam inserts truly hold the pieces in place!

After returning a similarly priced chess set that was shoddy at best, we were pleasantly suprized at the high quality of this set. The board itself is solid and finished with wood veneer and quality latches. The chess pieces are smooth, elegant and well-weighted. The high density foam to hold the pieces is of high quality. The only quibbles are that the board is missing the notation, and it would have been nice to have the extra queens. Still, highly recommended.
