Is the green spot relevant? I've seen some thermostats marked with a white or yellow spot.

Yes, it marks the temperature it switches off at. Green is usually a lower temp say 85’c Rob

I don't know the actual temp range but the different ranges seem to be designated by the colour of the spot that can be found on the back. Green and White seem to be the most common. I ordered mine in accordance with the 'suitability' list and checked that they were described as 'green spot' the same as the colour on the faulty item.

Anyone have the measusrement of the diameter of the circular part. want to make sure they fit the holes in the heating unit. Thanks

I dont have the measurements but it is a standard size for all machines, slotted into place easily with a tiny bit of wiggle room to allow me to line it up with the fixing bracket holes
