Seagate Ultra Touch HDD 4TB External Hard Drive, USB-C Compatibility with PC, Mac, and Chromebook, Rescue Data Recovery Services (STMA4000400)

Looks and Feels premium, got it in sale, good for backing up memories. The space available is 3.6 TB. I was going for SSD but somehow was saved as SSDs are not meant for long term storage, if not powered for long time like a year or so, can wipe out/erased data. HDDs are best for long term storage. Also a lot cheaper. Went with this Seagate variant as I wanted type-c cable, is more convenient for my windows and mac laptop. This variant is made up of recyclable stuff, hence is bit highly priced. You can go with One touch or Expansion variants as well, they are bit cheaper. One more reason to go with this was because most of the latest reviews about the One touch or Expansion drives were pretty negative, and there is no replacement/return from Amazon. You have to run to service center, that too they may give you a refurbished one as described in one of the reviews. I went with Seagate because I had another seagate 2 TB HDD which I bought in 2015, around 10 years have passed still working as new. So trust this brand. The write speeds when I was copying from 1 HDD to another was around 70-75 MBPS on an average while copying from Laptop was about 120-130 MBPS, so works for me. No need for any faster speeds. This one works with Mac and windows, comes with ExFAT file system. This one is bit thicker and is bit heavy. Need to be careful with it. 0.9 inch thick, hence finding a case for it would be tricky. Just a tip, the case you buy for this should be at least 4 cm think otherwise the drive and the connecting cable will press against each other. I bought a new Aircase for this, it somehow got closed but the wire was pressing against the drive, thankfully my previous case for old 2TB HDD was thick enough, so kept the new drive in it, and the old one in new case. A seagate application is available to install, once you follow the instructions provided in the PDFs already saved in drive. The app detects and provides various functionalities to do with the drive, like locking etc. Also helps in ejecting the drive safely. Nice interface. The wire provided is USB 3.2 Type C cable, good quality, thick. One issue which I've encountered with this external hard disk is that during a data transfer of about 250 GB from my old drive to the new one, I noticed strong internal movement when I touched the drive, which felt unusual and bit concerning. All in all happy with the purchase, hope this works long enough like it's predecessor which I have.

My Harddisk has not come with a USB Cable,,, The box was partially open otherwise the disk is running well. I have realized it later when I observed it that there should be cable in the box.... I have started using the disk.... How to raise the request for a cable

UPDATE: 1. 50% space is used , speed has been reduced to 110mbps Seagate Hard Drive 5tb Review : 1. Go Through all pictures and videos. 2. C to C cable, both the sides are c type. 3. Cable is USB 3.2, higher speed than normal c to c cable. 3. Hard Drive space is 4.54 TB. 4. If larger file size, speed ranges between 130 to 140mbps. 5. If smaller file size, ofcourse speed would be lesser. 6. Works with both Mac and Windows. 7. Pre formatted to NTFS , though in booklet it is mentioned Ex-fat. 8. If you go for HDD, go for NTFS , EX-FAT has higher failure chances. 9. Download Paragon NTFS Seagate Software (FREE) for Mac so as to use hard drive without formating. 10. With Paragon Software you can use the hard drive with Mac and Windows both. 11. Always eject safely from computer.

Easy to install. Quiet and tiny. Faster and more portable than the drive it replaced. Love the little icon. Good quality overall. I'd buy it again.
