Has no built-in microphone 2. No bluetooth connection (which extends control range beyond old infrared line-of-sight limitations) 3. Also it is NOT backlit I believe the factory remotes boxed with all brand new Q7 TVs include those 3 above features, while this replacement version does NOT. However for some people like me, the absence of a microphone eavesdropping on me, whether constantly or just the occasional accidental triggering, is a bonus! Also for me, just the old fashioned infrared light direct line-of-sight remote control capability is plenty. Backlighting is useful, but there's so few buttons on this streamlined remote, and even less of them that I actually use, that who really needs backlighting? I bought this as a replacement for my r646 tv.. Initially I was pleased a lot more premium feel with more buttons.. vol and ch buttons are nice (even tho I don't watch OTA tv).... Voice doesn't work but that's not really an issue ( and stated in ad) The thing that made me return this is this one small but annoying problem.. On google TCL tv the power button is also the sleep button.. Which "usually" isn't a problem but with this remote.. I don't know how to describe this it registers you pushing the power button too fast and always goes to sleep instead of asking to power off... Last night took me 7 tries to turn off the TV.. Everytime it go to sleep then I'd have to wake and try again.... I thought it was a me issue.. or maybe Tv.. but then I took stock remote and this never happens with it.. Something about the way it registers you pushing the button is too fast where with the stock remote it registers the press and hold better... It's a shame as I really liked the remote otherwise better layout the buttons , better feel, an input button.. But I can't play around with my tv for 5 mins every night just to turn it off.. What a shame.... Also the guy with the 1 star review of course it doesn't work with your 65R655 you don't even have a google tv you have a roku.... So you need a roku remote...

This was our 3rd remote for this TV in 4 months. This one never did have a working infrared light. You can tell by pointing your smartphone camera at it while pushing the power button. If it's working, you'll see a purple light on your phone screen. (not visible to the naked eye). Trying another brand.

It works as advertised. Does not come with batteries. It feels nice in the hand, and is a great option for a replacement remote that's cheap.
