Powerful, Reliable, and Effortless to Use
The TP-Link TL-SG1005P 5-Port Gigabit PoE Switch completely exceeded my expectations. Setup was plug-and-play — no complicated configuration needed — and the PoE+ ports deliver consistent power to devices like cameras and access points without any hiccups. The fanless design keeps it silent, and the sturdy metal build with shielded ports feels solid and professional. QoS and IGMP snooping work seamlessly, ensuring smooth, reliable network traffic. Durable, high-performing, and thoughtfully engineered — exactly the kind of networking gear I love testing and recommending.

impression a year later: good deal
no subscription or management appliance needed. not loud, not bright, not flimsy. works fine for months on end in a back pantry running a couple poe devices, and can do basic things like vlan and link-aggregate. no nat/firewall but thats a plus for my use. if you want there is an app, you can see link states and graphs and intuitively configure each port seems very fast. i have a poe wifi-6 ap (w/ guest & private networks, using the same vlans as wired ports), a poe camera, a couple fast ethernet connections and some workstations & tvs, a printer. this thing never seems to need reboot or any other grief. would recommend for home / office or retail

Nice little switch
Works great for powering my HomeAssistant and Wireless AP. Speeds as advertised and I have two of them in a mini-rack for my homelab. Plug and play, small, efficient, good value.

Basic, easy and works well.
I've bought multiple of these. At one point, I ordered another type that was fancier. They stunk so I returned those and bought these switches again and I was very happy I did. These basic switches worked perfectly while the more expensive, fancier switches gave me problems. Sometimes basic and easy is best!

Reliable PoE Switch with Great Performance!
The TP-Link LS108GP is a fantastic little switch. Setup was truly plug-and-play—just connect the cables and it works instantly. All 8 ports deliver fast gigabit speeds, and the PoE function powers my IP cameras and access points with no issues at all. It runs cool and quietly, and the metal housing feels very sturdy and built to last. Perfect for anyone who needs a simple, reliable, and affordable PoE switch. Highly recommended for home or small office networks!

I'm happy with this product.
After moving my router to a more central location in the house, I found that my old 8-port, PoE switch, located in the attic, had one port that wasn't working. Switching port connections didn't help. A little on-line research showed that the switch was rated functional down to 10 degrees F. Temps in my attic occasionally reach minus 20, but as mentioned, the switch had worked well for 10 yrs +. Searching for a switch rated to 20 below meant spending BIG bucks for a military grade unit. I bought this unit, drilled a 2" diameter hole in the ceiling of the closet of my office, stuffed all the cables through a 2" grommet, and stuffed cotton balls in the excess space. I caulked around the top in the attic and replaced about 10" of insulation atop it. The unit's power cable was stuffed up through the grommet and was long enough to reach a standard electrical outlet in the attic. Mounting the unit on a wall below the grommet was simple. It's silent, but I may have paid more for it than needed due to my ignorance of what was needed. It has switches for various configurations - I left those in default position. All is working well. All cables connectivity is good. Compared to the old, basic switch I replaced, build quality seems to be excellent. Based on the description of this switch, it may be more appropriate for a small business application. At this time, I'm connecting 8 surveillance cameras, but plan on adding one or two more, and wanted extra ports for that. As mentioned, it's a bit pricier than I may have needed, but I now have a fully functional switch, and the project to replace is over.

Great for video server
A good option for high speed systems. I’ve been using this on my high def video server with great results. Most runs power cameras or switching equipment without have any power issues, or heating up.

This model is hard to beat.
The TL-SG1005P is exactly what a home or small business PoE system needs—simple, reliable, and completely silent thanks to its fanless design. I connected multiple PoE cameras (including REOLINK Duo 2) and the switch handled them effortlessly with stable voltage and zero overheating. Build quality is solid with a metal chassis, and setup truly is “plug and play.” The QoS and IGMP Snooping features help optimize traffic for streaming devices and cameras. Pros; Robust metal housing and fanless quiet operation. Reliable PoE+ power delivery (65W total) Zero-configuration setup. Perfect for 4K security cameras. Compact and stable. Cons; No VLAN or advanced management options (unmanaged) Verdict; If you're looking for a cost-effective, high-stability PoE switch for security cameras or home networking, this model is hard to beat.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Plug and Play Perfection for PoE! I've been using this TP-Link 5-Port Gigabit PoE Switch (4 PoE ports) for a few weeks now, and I couldn't be happier with its performance. It's truly a "plug and play" device that delivers exactly what it promises. I needed to power a couple of IP cameras and a PoE access point, and this switch handled it flawlessly. Setup was as simple as plugging in the devices and connecting the switch to my network – no complicated configurations or software needed. All my PoE devices powered up instantly and have been running reliably ever since. The build quality feels solid and it runs silently, which is a huge plus in my home office setup. The gigabit speeds ensure there are no bottlenecks for my network traffic, even with multiple devices running. For anyone looking for a reliable, easy-to-use, and effective PoE solution for a small network, this TP-Link switch is an absolute winner. Highly recommended!

Good quality, robust and simple - plug in all your network devices and connect to a router and away you go – no stuffing about, just works. I like the robust steel chassis/case and the large power supply. Often with these types of devices, the included power supply is absolute rubbish and fails within the first couple of years. However, judging by the size of this power supply, I’m expecting years of trouble-free service. I bought this switch to power my POE (Power Over Ethernet) security cameras and to allow connecting multiple cameras to the last available network port in my router. Thus far I have 2x security cameras connected (Amcrest IP8M-T2499EW and IP2M-841EB) with both cameras working well and more cameras on the way. Amcrest offer a similar switch for a similar price, however the speed is only 10/100Mbps. This switch is 10/100/1000Mbps, which should ensue longevity for future upgrades. Just a note - if you’re going to all the trouble to run network cables through your roof and down walls, make sure to use Cat 6 or better for future upgrades. My cameras only have a 100Mbps network interface, however the next generation will likely have a 1000Mbps – so I’ll be right to re-use my current network infrastructure.
