Q: Will it work for all aquariums?

It works great A little tricky setting it up but my fish seem to like it

Q: Is there water way up there where the fish are swimming? Cause why does it look like there IS no water where the fish are swimming??

Hi, how are you? Yes, there is water all the way to the top. If you install one in your aquarium use a small hose and suck the air out of the small tower and water begin to fill up. I have a small pump that I use for that. I also have another tower bigger and taller in my 30-gallon cube tank. Whatever you do make sure that no air bubbles get in the mini tower (from the tank itself or air stone). Otherwise, all that water will empty into your aquarium and can cause the water to spill out of the tank. I hope this is helpful.
