I have a Briggs and Stratton lawn mower and this was a perfect fit!!! My lawn mower is working again and super easy to install. Even came with another string just in case. I almost bought one from eBay costing over $50 so this saved money and good quality. Functions perfectly and took about 10 minutes to fix. Highly recommend!

Fit perfect, solid replacement

pull cord included; 2 of them... make me wonder if they think one won't last... It fits my old briggs 5, I have not pulled it much so will have to see what happens next spring when the engine gets started a bunch, I spot welted the nuts, as I don't trust them it to not vibration off.

Worked great on my mower (Toro with Briggs and Stratton 123K02–0114–E1) I did need to drill out the rivets from the factory assembly, but that probably varies by model. The other thing to note is that out of the box, the cord doesn't reach all the way to the handle. I just use it from the top of the mower, but some people might like that. It came with more string, but not super clear to me how to extend it (and I don't care enough to try).

Perfect replacement for my craftsman mower. Bought because the spring broke off pull assembly. Started on first pull. Hardest part was taking off the rivet screws from my mower so I can install this. Easy to install after that.

Starter assembly installed ok and had plenty of pull rope. However, it would only turn engine 1/4 of a turn with each pull. As soon as the starter met engine compression resistance the starter assembly would lock up. I checked the engine by hand and the engine turned freely. When the starter pull assembly locked up (much like a car's seat belt does) I could release a few inches of pull rope and it would pull again. Every time it locked up there was still plenty of pull rope left. Much more expensive but go with OEM. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for. This was the second aftermarket starter assembly I bought. Different manufacturers but both had the exact same problem. Again, the engine turns freely. Problem is definitely in the starter assembly design.

I am very happy with this purchase. Fit perfectly on my lawnmower (Craftsman, Briggs & Stratton 6.5). Great quality, can’t beat the price.
