Great quality images and video - easy setup - built-in rechargeable battery charged with Solar
One of the first things I do when using a new electronic device is to find and download the PDF Usage Guide. The TC22 can be found on the VOOPEAK website under Service & Support→User Manual. Information can change or be updated after the initial printing of a user guide that is included with the camera. Also downloading a user manual in PDF format to a PC or MAC makes it easy to search for a topic of interest. I had a learning curve with my initial trail camera from 5 years ago understanding how to navigate the different setup selection options in the camera. Having that background made it very easy to setup and immediately use the TC22. The built-in rechargeable lithium battery can be charged by solar which is a great improvement over having to replace batteries regularly. If the camera is not mounted in an area exposed to the sun, the camera can be charged by USB when needed. The TC22 uses a full size SD card which is easier to take out of the camera than a Micro SD. Also, if the SD card is dropped in the grass it is easier to find than a Micro SD that is used by many trail cameras. The WILDLIFE CAM phone or IPAD application for remote operation was easily located using the QR code on the camera box and inside the instruction manual. The WILDLIFE CAM app easily connects to the camera without any manual interactions to the phone settings, wifi, bluetooth, etc. My 5 year old trail cameras remote phone application were cumbersome to connect to the camera, having to go back and forth to the phone settings and the camera remote app. Like anything that has multiple choices for different settings, “one size can not fit all” and operate optimally. The WILDLIFE CAM app makes it easy to try different settings for PIR (Passive Infrared interval ) Interval and PIR Sensitivity which affects the trigger time and battery life and SD storage. This interval helps prevent the camera from capturing multiple images of the same event too closely together, allowing for more efficient use of storage and battery life. Videos created with resolution greater than 1080 may experience buffering delays when viewing with the WILDLIFE CAM app since the phone does not offer settings to preference increased memory to optimize streaming. I found it easy to download my 4K videos from the SD card to my PC for viewing. I have only taken a few videos of the wildlife surrounding my home since my recent TC22 purchase. In another few months my Barn Owls will return to the nesting box and I look forward to using the TC22 4K video to capture their return as they start the 2026 Owlet generation. I would recommend this Trail Camera to others.

2023 and 2025 TC22 Trail Cam review
Voopeak TC22 camera from 2023 and 2025 Noticeable improvements from the 2023 version: Internal display resolution and clarity is better Bluetooth connectivity when downloading photos or video or managing the device seems faster. I have the camera on a tripod about 100ft away outside within line of sight and the download rate is better than I expected. What is still good? Solar charging in battery life. The 2023 edition has retained high percentage charge with decent trigger rate and mixed light conditions. I'm at 42 north latitude so we get less sunshine in the late fall through early spring months. The newer model has performed well with active trigger rates and the battery % stamped on the photo is never below 90%. I do see battery drain if I download A LOT of photos, but it recharges quite quickly. For photo and video resolution, I see no change and that is fine. In good light, the photos and videos are sharp. At night I get good event triggers. In a space where I regularly see an opossum, I get triggers and can easily see mice scurrying around. I continue to recommend this trail cam for remote observation of what happens in the dark *or* daylight on trails or in your yard when mounted on a tripod.

Great camera with a lot of features! Very nice video and photo quality.
This is a great trail camera! There are so many features that I love. I bought it originally because of the solar charging. I was tired of the expense of replacing batteries and the reviews on this camera’s solar capabilities were good. It has been mounted in a shady part of our woods for several days and still has a 100% charge from the solar panels. With the 4k video and 60 MP photo resolutions, the pictures and video are crisp with excellent daytime color rending. We have had several trail cameras over the years. The nighttime illumination on this camera is far superior to other trail cameras that I have owned. One feature that I had not given enough credit when originally purchasing the camera is the Wi-Fi capability. Our house is quite a distance from where we normally keep cameras, so I had not thought about Wi-Fi being a high priority. I was wrong... Using the WILDLIFE CAM app for setting up the camera is very nice. From the app you can get a live shot from the camera. This lets you easily aim the camera, getting away from the “point and hope” approach that is used on cameras that don't have the Wi-Fi capability. The app also permits you to adjust settings without having to open the camera case. The Wi-Fi has proven to be very beneficial. Like a few of the other reviews, I also had not checked the charge level on the battery before attempting to connect the Wi-Fi. The Bluetooth connection failed multiple times and I ended up sending an email to VOOPEAK support to get help. I sent the email in the early evening and by the next morning I had a reply with instructions in my email inbox. I followed the instructions, charged the camera to 100% and was easily able to connect the camera to my phone app. I saw several posts about the camera not detecting small animals, but have not had that problem. I have the sensitivity set to high and at that setting it triggers not only on small animals like fox, rabbits and armadillos but even captures videos of large moths as they fly past the camera field of vision. One feature that seems small but is really very nice is that it uses full size SD cards rather than MicroSD cards. Because MicroSD cards are so small, I have dropped and lost several MicroSD cards when changing them in the woods. I may still drop the full-size SD cards, but at least being full-size I will have a better chance of finding them again. I really like this camera. I would buy it again and would recommend it to my friends.

Amazing camera. I have used trail cameras for a few years now, mainly Campark but others as well and they all seem much the same except the very expensive one I treated myself to that I had to return because the night video was much worse than my own cheapest camera. As I’m getting on a bit I find it a bit of a fiddle to open and remove SD cards every day. I have a small garden and like to see what’s around every night, It’s mainly hedgehogs but they can be very entertaining. It’s often disappointing to only get them as they go out of shot and the video is often blurred……. Not with the TC22! It is by far and away the best I’ve come across. Once it is set up, which is quite intuitive, download and open the App, you can see what the camera will record and operate all the functions without having to open it again. No batteries to worry about and if you want to you don’t even need to go outside so long as the camera’s wifi is within about 10 metres of your phone. I often have a quick look on my way to bed and if I want to I can even take a longer video if anything interesting is going on. Trigger speeds are so much faster and the video quality is superb. I’ve fixed the camera to a fence from where it covers most of my garden and in this position it’s in full light during the day and so far the solar power hasn’t dropped below 100% From there I can view almost the whole of my garden. The IR lighting covers it well, I have also experimented putting the camera in other parts of the garden and again the results are good. The IR senses how close things are and does not over expose them. I’m only really interested in night visitors but I have also used it to see more of the birds that visit in the day. I was going to attach a few shots of things the camera has taken during the week but find I'm only allowed to attach one!. There has not been as much as usual, probably because it’s been so hot locally.

It is not very often I give a five star review but this trailcam deserves it. The picture quality is excellent, even the starlight night vision records well in colour. That needs a bit of light though, but it prolongs colour recording further into the evening. The inbuilt battery has remained over 90% charged, usually 100%, despite the miserable weather we have at the moment. In order to make sure nothing is missed it is important to have the angle of the camera set correctly. I had a problem at first as it would only record me, not the foxes or badgers that come our garden. I cannot praise the help team more highly as they persevered with their advice until everything worked as it should. I had set the camera angle slightly too high so it saw me but not anything lower. It now records the odd pigeon among the other animals (including deer and next door's cat), so it's sensitive enough. It is straightforward to set up and settings can be altered remotely using the Wi-Fi link, which can also be used to see the recordings without having to fiddle with the SD card. I particularly like the option to allow recording longer than the time set when movement continues, so not much is missed. As with most in life you get what you pay for, and this is definitely good value. Highly recommended, and thankyou to the support team. Well done!
