Works on my “swirl” pattern frosted outside lamp!!
I was skeptical, but it worked. Picture had to be taken in daylight in order to see this type of frosting I speak about. My lamp is NOT SOLID frosted, but has slightly clearer swirl marks; however, I think it would still work with solid frosted types. It does take up room in the lamp; however I improvised & purchased smaller 2” high floodlights from Amazon to save space. “Anyray A1876Y (3-Bulbs) HR16 120V 35W E27/ E26 MR-16 35 Watt JDR C Halogen Bulb Lamp FMW Flood with Lens.” Prior to this, I had attach a separate sensor on the wall & squeeze the lead wire to the bulb piece between the glass and screw-in lid (because fixture was closed at the bottom). The outside piece that was attached to the wall never weathered well, and I had to get on a ladder to change the battery (and sometimes the entire sensor contraption). With this sensor, everything is shielded from the weather, no battery is involved, and no ugly wires. I don’t often leave reviews, but this sensor deserved a good review, and I hope it helps others that have frosted fixtures that are closed at the bottom.

READ ME if you want to buy, it sees thru walls, doors, Erratic operation
FIVE STARS TO GET ATTENTION actually not. Frustrating item, wanted to love it (like the old First Alert PIR motion, light sensor). Seems it uses a frequency like wifi that penetrates walls. From the DESCRIPTION: "the radar motion sensor can penetrate most physical barriers (glass, wood, plastics, and even metal screen)". Check it yourself. OK so what does that mean to you as a buyer user? This thing will turn on if you are in an adjacent room OR approaching it thru a closed door giving the IMPRESSION it never shuts off. This is a frequent complaint in reviews (and mine too after ordering a replacement). Since it senses thru barriers, it can turn on and off a LOT without you knowing. I installed it in a staircase ceiling leading to the basement and after troubleshooting found out it is turning ON just walking around in my house, not going down the staircase or opening the door as intended. It is hard to tell whether this thing actually works properly (time on/off etc). It is expensive compared to others. A simple, reliable Passive Infra-Red (PIR) sensor wouldn't do that. Maybe the manufacturer wanted to solve a problem of seeing thru glass fixtures, but created other issues for users. I am concerned about the constant ON/OFF cycling and its affect on lifetime. returned twice

Works with caveats
The motion sensor doesn't always activate the light when the motion is slight; sometimes have to walk a few steps to have the light switch on. The light sensor is very sensitive: inside my garage the lights will not activate unless it is very dark, not even close to dusk. I bypassed that feature by taping opaque strips of plastic bag to the outside of the fixture. Now the light comes on anytime motion is detected, even during the day, which is good for me 'cause the garage is always somewhat dark, just not enough for the light sensor to trigger.

Brutally bad, 3 min on setting lasts 10 seconds, does not respond to motion, nightlight ? AVOID
Do not give these folks your money. These are completely useless. They have some dip switches to set between 5 seconds and 3 minutes. 5 seconds ? huh ? what use case is this ? doesn't matter cause they always go off in 10 seconds no matter if you have set them to 3 minutes. They willl notice walking near them if the setting is at 27 feet (max) but will not notice general motion at all. You can stand in one plac and wave your arms for an hour and it won't come on. Walk towards it and it will come on...for 10 seconds and then go off. Did I mention it has a night light ? which in "Smart" setting stays on all the time ? why ? it is kind of cute but useless cause the light doesn't do the basic use case you bought it for. The directions are bad. Small, hard to read with old eyes. Well to be accurate, the important section for directions to configure the switch are small. The other 1.5 pages of marketing bs are large. This product is extra bad even for the usual amazon cheap junk. AVOID. Don't waste a moment on this product. It doesn't come close to working. Note there are two in the box. Tested both and they both work incorrectly. JUNK.

Hack to make work day and night! :-)
I'm using this to auto on hexagon garage led lights. To make them work in lit and unlit environments, wrap 1 loop of black electrical tape around the translucent part. The motion still works while thinking it's dark so it'll light up every time. I tried different tape colors and types and this works best.

I purchased an LED bulb adapter with dimmable control, specially designed for my temporary shelter. I was looking for an efficient and practical lighting solution, suitable for outdoor use. Here is my detailed experience with this product. According to our taste we set it at 5 feet instead of 12 feet preferable for our tempo, watch the video. My goal was clear: find lighting that automatically adapts to changes in brightness, while providing easy installation for my temporary shelter. I wanted a product that would simplify my life, without compromising on quality. The adapter has radically changed our routine. As soon as you approach the street, by car or on foot, the bulb turns on automatically. It's magical, giving a personalized welcome feeling. This adapter is relatively compact and its main function is light intensity control which automatically adjusts from dusk to dawn, an ideal feature for outdoor use. The lighting is soft, but powerful enough to effectively illuminate my shelter. However, I noticed a slight latency when changing intensity, which can be slightly confusing at first. Quality and Performance Overall, the quality is there. The adapter is resistant to variations in temperature and humidity, a crucial point for outdoor use. Its performance is stable, but it is important to note this small latency when making intensity adjustments. Benefits: - Easy installation - Responsiveness to change of light - Resistant to external conditions Disadvantages: - Slight latency in intensity adjustment Compared to other similar adapters, its price-performance ratio is competitive, although it is not the fastest in terms of responsiveness. To optimize its use, I recommend combining it with a quality LED bulb, in order to take full advantage of its dimming capabilities. This adapter is a great option for those looking for a smart, easy-to-install lighting solution for outdoor spaces like a temporary shelter. Despite the low latency, its efficiency and resistance make it a wise choice. I recommend it for those looking for a balance between simplicity, efficiency and durability.

This installs easily and the dip switches are easy to set to set sensitivity of motion and how long it stays on. Using an LED bulb in the socket — the built in dim light is a great asset. Motion switches on your installed bright bulb. I did have some issues with the bright light staying continuously on after having it for 6 months. It has a 2 yr warranty and the company responded to email and replaced it straightaway. This really gives confidence in this company. Highly recommended as an outside porch light, but many other uses. The radar detection more effective than infrared, working through the glass enclosure.

This is a great idea and I really liked the way it worked, while it did work. It lasted about two weeks and is now kaput :-(

We have an outdoor light that doesn't have a switch. The old motion sensor light was so ugly and shined its light directly into our neighbors bedroom window. I wanted something modern. After using a light with no motion sensor, I found this adapter and I'm pretty pleased! It even works in cold Canadian weather. It has a dim glow when it's not triggered, which helps when someone is coming down the path and hasn't triggered the sensor. It's been 8 months and no problems so far.
