Plastic spools
I got so fed up with the squirrels constantly eating the birdseed that I decided to try this as I had read it somewhere else. They work perfectly! It was sort of funny to see the first squirrel try to hang on and just keep spinning. finally he fell off. No squirrel was hurt.

I use these to roll my binding strips onto. It makes sewing the binding to my quilts a lot easier when I set the roll onto a thread stand to easily pull it off as I need it.
