Review: PERFUMER'S CHOICE No. 9 Victor – Unbeatable Masculine Excellence Perfumer's Choice No. 9 Victor, created by Milton Lloyd, stands out as a true gem in the world of men's fragrances. It offers an undeniably high-end scent experience without the intimidating luxury price tag. If you're looking for a signature scent that is fresh, versatile, long-lasting, and garners serious compliments, No. 9 Victor is a must-try. The Scent Profile: Fresh, Fruity, and Deeply Masculine From the moment you apply it, Victor announces itself with a bright, invigorating burst of fresh, fruity notes. The opening is dominated by crisp Apple, juicy Pineapple, and vibrant Bergamot. This is not a fleeting, weak opening; it’s bold, exhilarating, and immediately attention-grabbing. As the scent settles, it moves into a sophisticated and aromatic heart. Here, the sharp fruits soften and blend beautifully with an aromatic, slightly floral core of Jasmine and Rose, complemented by subtle Woody Notes. This transition is where the fragrance truly shines, maintaining its freshness while deepening into something more complex and refined. The dry down is rich, warm, and powerfully masculine. Classic base notes of earthy Oakmoss, creamy Vanilla, and enveloping Amber provide a sensual and long-lasting foundation. This elegant finish makes the scent feel grounded and luxurious, offering excellent longevity and sillage throughout the day. Performance and Value One of Victor’s most compelling features is its exceptional performance relative to its cost. As an Eau de Parfum (EDP), it boasts a high concentration of quality perfume oils. Many users report solid performance, often lasting 6 hours or more on the skin, and even longer on clothing. It projects confidently without being overwhelming, making it perfect for both the office and an evening out. The true highlight of this fragrance is its unbeatable value. Milton Lloyd is famous for prioritizing the quality of the juice inside the bottle, and with No. 9 Victor, you get a genuinely sophisticated, premium aroma for a fraction of the price of designer equivalents. It’s the definition of accessible luxury. Final Verdict PERFUMER'S CHOICE No. 9 Victor is a resounding success. It is a fantastic option for the modern man who wants a scent that is both refreshing and commanding. It’s incredibly versatile—wear it year-round for any occasion—and it’s built to earn positive attention. If you want a top-tier, compliment-getting fragrance without emptying your wallet, look no further than No. 9 Victor. It’s an essential addition to any man's collection.

What a nice smell
Discovered this brand recently and was very surprised by the quality and how inexpensive compared to the higher priced brands of men’s aftershave.it’s a lovely smell that lasts all day, also has an atomiser spray so i use it as an body spray as well as aftershave. Happy with this purchase.

Nice smell - but weak, and little depth.
I bought this after becoming a fan of 'Club De Nuit - Intense Man' - as they are from the same family. As soon as I sprayed this I could identify the shared dna. However - that perfume dries down on me to a lovely spicy patchouli; this one however has no depth and simply remains a pleasant citrus smelling spray with some slight green notes (it smells like vetiver to me which isn't in the scent notes - so maybe it's the woody notes I pick up, but they are very faint). The longevity and projection are not great either. It lasts for about 3 hours, and is a skin scent after an hour on me. The other perfume I mentioned works as a citrus scent for a few hours, then you get a few more hours of the patchouli dry down, with far superior projection. It feels like this product is less like an EDP and more like a nice body spray to use alongside the 'CDN' - and as such isn't actually cheaply priced, and is expensive for a body spray. I doubt I'll bother buying it again (unlike at least 4 other products from Milton Lloyd, including one of the other perfumes in this range, which are essential purchases).

Beautiful Perfume – Long Lasting & Great Value
I absolutely love the Perfumer’s Choice collection! Each fragrance is beautifully crafted, long lasting, and smells far more luxurious than the price suggests. • Victor No.9 – fresh, vibrant, and perfect for everyday wear. • Zayn No.3 – warm, rich, and classy, ideal for evenings or special occasions. • Phoenix No.1 – bold, unique, and really makes a statement. They all project really well, last all day, and I’ve had so many compliments when wearing them. The packaging is sleek and modern too, making them a perfect gift. If you want high-quality perfumes without breaking the bank, this is the best choice. Highly recommended!

Classy
I can see why this is a very very popular scent for men. It's modern and it's British! Great value as it is long lasting and smells upmarket. I can recommend it as in these times of tight money it shines like a diamond. You don't have to spend to get quality you just know where to look I wear it alot even the shopping.

Fantastic smell, terrible sprayer (and you're getting less than 50ml!)
Honestly a lovely smelling, long-lasting fragrance for the money - though the price has suddenly jumped up from £4.99 to over £8. I've got no idea why they decided to use a propellant-driven aerosol spray despite every other aftershave having a atomizer. I realised the answer is simple - the '50ml' measurement includes the propellant, so you actually get far less of the product than you think. Other Milton Lloyd fragrances with listed ingredients show there's more propellant than fragrance, so for an EDP you'd expect at least 10-20% (possibly more) of the bottle is flammable, polluting gases. This explains why a lot of people have noticed Milton Lloyd bottles don't last very long; it's m misleading marketing really. Either way, the deodorant style aerosol spray never worked properly from the begining, basically dousing me in liquid rather than a fine mist. First couple of sprays were incredibly strong, but then the smell got weaker and weaker. Now it's not spraying at all despite only a few uses and plenty of liquid sloshing around inside. However if you get one that works and don't mind how quickly you'll get through it, it's lovely smelling stuff for very little money.

OMG. So nice and long lasting. Get compliments all the time. ("Is that Creed?")

This is not the Victor No 9 I have bought previously
No 9 is famous for it being identical to the famous 2017 iteration of Creeds Aventus. V no 9 has been my go to fragrance for over 6 years and it is/was a real compliment getter. The latest 83ml I have bought from Amazon has no scent...there is just the base chemical layer. It's as if Victor haven't put half the ingredients in. There is no scent, no longevity, just a silly slight bubble gum smell. If I was restricted to less than 10 words for a review it would be... THIS IS NO LONGER THE CREED AVENTUS CLONE WE KNEW. THEY'VE CHANGED IT. It might be that I have bought from a faulty batch (heaven forfend someone out there is cloning a clone!) but I doubt it. I also plan to write to Victor to see if they have changed the formula for No 9 on purpose. If they reply I will come back here and report. At the moment I'm very disappointed that this fragrance may no longer be available in its original scent. Keep your money in your pocket, based on the change Victor appears to have made, Amazon are going to be hit with hundreds of returns on this product...with my return being in first place. Very. Very, Very. Disappointed. Edit number one 1 June 24... I purchased another bottle from another seller - and it manifested the exact same lack of fragrance, that swish of citrus and amazing hours long dry down has completely gone. I have written to Victor customer service who got back within 24hrs and they have asked me to send both bottles (I bought one 50ml and one 85ml for comparison) back for analysis by their lab people. They go off on Monday, I'll keep you updated on the result. Edit... 4 November 2025 I've finally got to the bottom of things and it isn't Victor perfumes fault re the change of fragrance, it's the house of Creed itself. As a birthday gift, my wife wanted to buy me a bottle of actual Aventus, and we went to a nearby department store to test it before buying, et voila, the fragrance has changed absolutely from that original conversation stopper most of us know. The new iteration is weak, 'weffy' and totally lacking that Pineapple/Juniper/Blackcurrant fragrance that the previous V No 9 captured so perfectly. No Sillage, no longevity, just about a skin scent. The salesperson was really embarrassed as I tried it, I think she knew I'd be disappointed. She agreed on its weakness and lack of longevity, blaming it on the EU applying new rules re what can be included in fragrances. We didn't buy. The problem being Victor have ditched that original fragrance and copied Creeds latest offering to perfection, hence the bubblegum childish notes of the new No9. If you've never bought the original offering, you may like this, but if you are coming to buy because your two year old bottle has run out, be prepared to be really disappointed. If Victor Perfumes customer service pick this review up, why not run the old batch alongside the new one, call it Victor 9a or something and in a slightly different colour box, if you do you'll sell boxloads. In fact I'll buy your first 20 bottles I loved the fragrance so much. Anyhoo - I hoped this helped clear things up.
