The much sought-after self-titled 1988 album from Miami freestyle duo Sequal is given a double CD Deluxe Edition reissue on Cherry Pop. Widely regarded as the best album of the freestyle genre, "Sequal" features a stand-out collaboration with Stock Aitken Waterman on the 1988 single Tell Him I Called , alongside a string of club classics which epitomised the Miami sound: It s Not Too Late , She Don t Want You , I m Over You (US #11 Dance), Tell The Truth (US #9 Dance), Brand New Love and Could ve Had My Love . Production credits on the album also include electro pioneer Kurtis Mantronik and Miami legends Lewis A Martinée and Michael Morejon. Digitally remastered direct from the master tapes, this Deluxe Edition features the original 10-track album plus the original CD and cassette bonus cut cover of Luba s Let It Go and a further 18 remixes, all previously only issued on vinyl, from a virtual Who s Who of late 80s pop and dance: PWL s Pete Hammond and Harding & Curnow, Justin Strauss, Ric Wake & Richie Jones, plus sought-after early work from 90s luminaries David Morales, Little Louie Vega and Danny Tenaglia. Compiled with personal input from Sequal, the extensive booklet also features additional photos, a fully illustrated discography and recording data, lyrics and new sleeve notes written especially for this release. With original CD copies commanding high prices on the collectors market, this is a highly anticipated reissue. Launched in 1985 by Lewis A Martinée as the sequel to girl group Exposé, Sequal are Angie Vollaro and Maria Christensen. Favourites on the Miami scene with It s Not Too Late and She Don t Want You , first issued on the independent Joey Boy label, they made their major label debut in 1988 with I m Over You on Capitol. With both members writing much of Sequal s material, in the 1990s, Maria made a name for herself as a songwriter with credits including Céline Dion and Jennifer Lopez s Waiting For Tonight . Sequal reformed in 2008, touring and releasing a new download-only single, My Love For You . "Sequal" follows a long line of popular PWL-related reissues on Cherry Pop from artists such as Mel & Kim, Samantha Fox, Sinitta, Hazell Dean, Sonia, Boy Krazy, Princess, Lonnie Gordon, Pepsi & Shirlie and O chi Brown.
