Benss USB Fingerprint Reader for Windows 10 Hello, Fingerprint Scanner for Laptop, 0.05s Fast Login to Windows & PasswordFree (Gray)

I really hate typing passwords, and about ten years ago I managed to snag a deal for a Dell enterprise edition laptop for home. It came with a fingerprint reader and completely revolutionized how I used my computer; however, I had to part with it as it grew too slow and old to use further. Since that day hunted for laptops with fingerprint scanners in an affordable price range. For many years I failed and pretty much gave u on ever having the functionality again, until I discovered usb attachments. I tried a few, and some were either unreliable or didn't work at all. But I discovered these Benss ones and was overjoyed with how it worked. It works about 75% of the time. This might sound low, but considering how easy and quick it is to scan, you can do two or three scans in less than a second. And I find the only times it fails is if there's some oil on the skin, or strangely, the opposite - I have just washed my hands. One tip is to setup "multiple fingers" but rescan the same finger. That increased reliability massively. With a clean fingertip (that wasn't just washed moments earlier) it scans me correctly nearer to 99% of the time within the first second of scans. I have loved and used the silver version of this for over 2 years, so have just bought a second black version for a new black laptop (ocd would irk me too much having unmatching colours). It works just as well, although I do see that this black version has no constantly flashing led light which is far less annoying (not sure if the silver version got rid of the light too as I bought it years ago). So I am very happy with this product.

Glad I bought this. Quick and easy to setup with Windows Hello and it makes it hugely convenient and fast to login to my PC at home. No more typing passwords - every user can use this to log in automatically from the user selection screen. I've had no issues at all in using this, or fingerprints being recognised, at start-up. It occasionally glitches out in a few 3rd party programmes I use it for, but usually unplugging/plugging back in sorts that out. (And is still faster than typing some of my passwords!)

So, my Company had a break in not long ago, and while they only took things of physical value, we realised we need to secure our computers more thoroughly, i've been testing a few USB Fingerprint readers that i found elsewhere (large bulky things) when someone mentioned that one that fits in my PCs usb port was potentially possible! i grabbed one of these not particularly expecting much performance out of it, but hey, this was one that a friend recommended. From testing it, i've found that it unlocks in under a second, i don't know the exact time, but as we're not that impatient, it's all fine. Windows allows us to set 32 character long passwords on our computers, and a pin code that we set to be 16 numbers long, so with both of those set, it becomes natural for us to just use the fingerprint reader. i've done some testing with my employee and she's really excited by it, basically a big toy for her :) overall, the build quality is wonderful, and as all our keyboards at work have USB ports on the side, it makes it super easy to just plug one in and leave it! we will be buying 5 more soon :)

Bought this product to try out and hopefully start using the Windows Hello feature in Windows 10. Was apprehensive at first buying this product as wasn't sure if it was going to work but it worked perfectly. I have got it plugged into a USB 3.0 port on the front of my desktop PC. Plug and Play solution as drivers install automatically on Windows 10 therefore no headache having to install the drivers manually. It is very fast at fingerprint recognition and as far as I can tell so far it has been accurate. Value is also very good as well in my opinion!

Drivers couldn't be loaded at first but got it to work after some coursing and it's brilliant boot up touch the sensor and away you go 5 stars shame I had some problems but brilliant product.

It requires you to download a driver from the benss website just to be recognised by windows (windows update does not recognise it). Once recognised as a device, it is still not recognised as a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) by windows 10 as it does not support TPM 1.2 which is now the minimum requirement for windows 10. Basically, its a potato.

Works like a charm with windows 10 and hello. No software, just plug n play, it does have some trouble picking up the finger prints once in a while but it's not a deal breaker and it could just be me. Not bad for the price.

Was a bit apprehensive about purchasing this as I could not find any mention of supporting Windows 11. Then I saw in the magazine 'Computer Active' that they were able to use it with a Windows 11 machine after applying Windows updates and then having to manually install the driver from 'Device Manager'. My Windows 11 laptop had all updates up to 11th May 2022 and a moment after the reader was plugged into the USB socket, it was visible in 'Device Manager' under 'Biometric Devices' with a driver dated 3rd March 2022. It was the necessary to reboot the laptop and I could then set 'Fingerprint recognition' as the sign-on option in Settings. Highly recommended.

Utiliser sur ma tour sous la dernière version de Windows 10, ça fonctionne très bien ! ça c'est installé tout seule lors du branchement, seul un redémarrage a été nécessaire avant le paramétrage dans Windows Hello. La reconnaissance de l'empreinte est bonne et rapide ! C'est vrai plus agréable et rapide de placer son doigts plutôt que taper un mot de passe ou code. Je recommande !

Davvero un piccolo gioiello, se non lo si prova non si riesce a credere quanto sia pratico e comodo il suo utilizzo. Devo ammettere che ero alquanto diffidente rispetto a questa tecnologia, per la sua affidabilità soprattutto. Invece ora che mi sono deciso di bypassare il miei pensieri negativi e installarlo.. sono davvero felice di non aver continuato a dar retta alle mie sensazioni. Arriva il classico blister tipo SD Card, fortunatamente nel retro vi è una zona ad apertura preimpostata che permette l'estrazione del lettore di impronte in modo rapido e senza doverne forzare la confezione. Con un sistema operativo Windows 10, basta inserirla in uno slot USB libero, che sia 2.0 o superiore.. E' consigliabile essere connessi ad Internet, il lettore verrà immediatamente riconosciuto ed impostato e caricherà in automatico i driver di Windows 10. Non rimarrà che cliccare con il pulsante destro sul mouse sull'icona "Start o Avvio" di Windows, poi selezionare "Impostazioni" e di seguito "Account", infine "Opzioni d'accesso". Dovrete in ogni modo impostare una password di accesso al PC prima di procedere, nel caso non lo aveste già fatto. Se avete anche già impostato l'accesso tramite "PIN di Windows Hello", al contrario di quel che suggeriscono le informazioni d'installazione, procedete alla sua eliminazione/disattivazione, altrimenti non riuscirete a far riconoscere l'impronta. Funziona solo con la classica password impostata. Nell'elenco delle "Opzioni di accesso" vi apparirà "Impronta digitale di Windows Hello", cliccateci sopra e vi sarà chiesta la password di accesso a Windows, immettetela e potrete di seguito passare il primo dito sul sensore del lettore, in 3/4 secondi di sfioramento e tocchi, seguendo le indicazioni a schermo, l'impronta verrà riconosciuta e registrata. Prima di continuare vi verrà richiesto d'impostare un codice veloce con "PIN di Windows Hello", opzione che trovate nella stessa pagina "Account" Potrete poi far riconoscere fino ad ulteriori 9 impronte, che siano vostre o di vostri famigliari ecc., 10 quelle totali che accetta. Il sistema di riconoscimento impronte permetterà 3 tentativi di lettura delle dita, dopodiché si bloccherà e sarà necessario immettere il "PIN di Windows Hello" per sbloccare l'accesso al PC. Se lo avrete dimenticato vi chiederà la password di accesso a Windows. Sul lettore di impronte sono presenti micro LED che indicheranno lo stato di funzionamento: - Blu lampeggiante: tocca l'impronta digitale per la verifica dell'accesso; - Verde: l'impronta digitale corrisponde; - Rosso: impronta digitale / impronta digitale errata; - Blu: il lettore è pronto. Il riconoscimento dell'impronta e l'accesso al PC è immediato, il più delle volte basta appoggiare il dito sul sensore, senza neanche strusciarlo, funziona anche con qualsiasi angolazione voi passiate il vostro polpastrello. Al momento davvero soddisfatto. Unica nota.., che fine faranno i dati delle mie impronte..?? Super Teil, anstecken und auf Windows Updates gehen, Treiber wird automatisch installiert. am längsten dauert das anlernen des Fingerabdrucks, aber dann, nur kurz antippen und man ist angemeldet. Bitte immer darauf achten, dahinter muss ein vernünftiges Passwort/Pin stehen, wird der Fingerabdruck nicht erkannt, sollte sich ein Fremder nicht mit 0000 oder 1234 einloggen können ;-) getestet mit Windows 10 und 11

Sehr schnelle Lieferung. Der Fingerabdruck sensor funktioniert einwandfrei. Ohne zusätzliche Treiber herunter zu müssen. Einfach an USB port einstecken. Windows erkennt die Hardware und installiert den nötigen Treiber. Danach unter Konten anmeldeoptionen Windows hello Fingerprint wählen und die Software geht dann den Fingerabdruck lern Prozess durch. Sehr zu empfehlen. Somit ist das lästige pin oder passwort eingeben bei der windows Anmeldung Geschichte.
