Better than using drain hose
2004 Larson LXI with a 4.3 Mercrusier. Was using the supplied oil drain hose that I have to put through the drain plug hole that was very hard to get at. I observed that I had a threaded oil dip stick so I decided to purchase this to see if it was easier. It was much easier and less time consuming. Added a small hose clamp to the device to make sure I didn't have a leak. Couple of pumps to get the suction going, and away we go. No leaks, worked great. Used the left over anti-freeze jug to catch the oil. Just when your done with it put it in a plastic bag because the left over oil will drain out of it.

Works great
Bought this to change the oil in my deck boat inboard motor. The pump worked great and i would recommend it for purchase.

Worthless Pump
Really disappointed with the pump. It would not thread on to my Mercruiser 4.5L dipstick. I purchased this ahead of time to be ready for the season and did not try it until after the return window. If you decide to buy, make sure to try and thread it on as it may not fit. Really frustrating to purchase a name brand part and get knockoff results.

Must have
Works great on a mercury boat engine, if you’re tired of paying $150.00 for a boat oil change buy this and save money!!

Removes oil but leaks slightly
The first one I ordered was delivered damaged(shipped in box with no packaging protection) and piece missing. 2nd one shipped again the same as first and arrived undamaged. Removed oil but unit leaks slightly. A little messy but not that bad.

Worked very well, better then other method I tried a week ago.
Had read mixed reviews....I went to Lowes and purchased a hose clamp to put on the hose that came with the pump and and additional 10 feet of hose to couple to it so I could be sure the hose was not in the boat. Warmed the boat up for 10 minutes and screwed the pump to the dip stick shaft and easily vacuumed out over 3 quarts of oil. It did start to leak a little towards the end, but I wrapped a cloth around it and didn't have any real issue. It disassembles, so I cleaned it all up with warm soapy water and a little Simple Green, so am hoping it will work as well the next time I use it. Sure beats trying to suck the oil out with hoses down the dip stick shaft, which I tried before buying this.

Easy and Mess Free!
Bought some compatible engine hosing to clamp on each side and it worked so easily and mess free that I will be using this for years to come instead of paying to have someone else change the oil!

Gets the job done, but needed modification
I got my oil changed, but this tool required modification. The black plastic on the top and bottom is a rubbery seal that comes apart very easily and leaks air. To get a good seal, I had to add hose clamps on the top and bottom. Once I did that, I was able to get enough suction to get my oil changed. Beware, it is a messy process, as the pump doesn't provide a constant stream of oil, more like burps of oil that can shoot out of the end of the hose at random times while pumping. For $45, this think should come with a longer hose and not need modifications to get the suction needed for a complete oil change.
