Great tasting sardines! I prefer Portuguese Sardines packed in Olive oil because of the health benefits. The oil actually helps your body absorb the calcium of the bones. This brand may cost a bit more, but they are a good value because of their freshness and delicious taste.

Quality and taste as good as I remembered it as a child.

I saw a thing on YouTube about this company and how everything is lovingly hand packed and how everything is still done by traditional methods (the company has been around for over 100 years.) So I had to try it because tinned fish can vary wildly. Well, it lived up to the hype! These are delicious, solid sardines with wonderful flavor. You can get spicy or not spicy. Both are fantastic. I will now buy no other sardines!

Watched a YouTube video on the processing of these sardines in the factory in Portugal and decided to give them a try. The video was embedded in a Google review of “the 10 best canned sardines”, with the NURI brand touted as the best. I will certainly admit their flavor is greater than the brands I usually find on local grocery shelves; however, I have eaten another, lesser exalted in the Google review, brand that is just as good, if not better, and nowhere near as pricey! Also, the NURI ones in plain olive oil are, to me, far better than the “spicy” ones, and I love spicy! These are good, but for me, nowhere near worth the price!

I keep forgetting how "fishy" tasting sardines are, and that's why I combine them with an antipasto type salad...with red onions, black olives in feta, tomatoes, oregano focaccia or some other really good bread or crackers. I add more evoo and red wine vinegar, fresh lemon juice, s&p. Very delicious sardines served this way.
