Tombow 82038 Fudenosuke Brush Pen, Soft and Hard Tip Fudenosuke Brush Pen for Calligraphy and Art Drawings

I’ve been searching for a black, permanent, non-bleeding pen to go over all my colored pencil work, but I kept having the trouble of wax buildup on all of the tips. Then I found these, and as you can tell by the pictures they worked absolutely incredible. I have to wipe off the tip every now and then but nothing compared to what I was having to do before. They dry down to a matte finish, which is really nice so the outlines don’t stand out as something that shouldn’t be there. I would definitely recommend these for anyone who needs a good fine liner or a good black pen to write with.

love, Love, LOVE THIS PEN!!! This little pen is AMAZING and a GAME CHANGER for anyone who does ink drawings. The majority of my work is black and white, forward & negative. So a black pen is CRUCIAL in my work. And I FINALLY found it! The fudenosuke is a FABULOUS pen, easy to hold and even easier to use. For drawing and lettering, I'm going to have a hard time finding anything better. My Mom even stole one if my Fudenosuke's! She LOVES it to do her outlines in her color books. Good value for the money I think. WORTH EVERY CENT!!

Love this pen, I used my last one up so I purchased this pack since I use it all the time. I use a paper planner and this does not bleed through the thin pages. It’s amazing for learning calligraphy and lettering. Great product

If you are a person who uses India ink or likes a totally opaque finish on inked work, this is a great product for you. It is sensitive to your own stroke pull yet the tip is hard enough to preserve the smaller lines you either release pressure for or that you desire for detail. On tracing paper, it will erase a little if you are using either a plastic or kneaded eraser. You will need to re-apply to get that opaque finish back.

These pens hold up to writing over acrylic paints, gell crayons, and watercolor. Once dry they do not smear. They are my go to pens for making neurographic drawings.

I love these pens, but the pack I received didn’t last long. The ink ran out in all of them within 3 weeks time. I have ordered another pack and am crossing my fingers that I just received a bad “lot” the first time. Tombow Fudenosuke small hard tip pens are my first choice for brush script modern calligraphy.

I am such a fan of these pens! They glide on any thickness of paper so smoothly, and they are perfect for beginners or those with more experience. I have to have a stash of these on hand at all times for journaling. Must-have item!

LOVE THESE PENS. These are great for beginners because the nibs are hard yet flexible, just not so flexible that you feel out of control. I love the amount of control I have, especially having a metal arm, it doesn’t leave shaky lines like other brush pens do. I will buy these over and over again. Ink lasts a decent amount too.

A brilliant calligraphy brush pen, especially suited to beginners

This brush pen is not really a brush pen in the traditional sense. This pen has a harder and smaller tip. While the pen can get really nice thick to thin lines it has its limitations when comparing them to other brush pens. This pen is awesome for illustrators and should be the workhorse in your arsenal in combination with more traditional Brush pens. The only con I have is that they dry out faster than my other pens. Overall great price and quality. Will be purchasing this item again.

Bought a 5 pack after finishing a pack of 3 a few weeks ago. Ink lasts a pretty long time and the nibs DO NOT FRAY on normal paper. Three pens lasted me a year and I draw on daily basis. Much more control on the hard tip as opposed to the soft tip, more easy to get the thinner lines. If you are a beginner, definitely recommend hard tip over soft. Package came with a bubble mailer bag with 5 pens individually wrapped. The ink is water based so it would not work as a line-art for watercolor linear (I've tried before). However, if you let the line-art dry overnight, you can use alcohol based ink over it the next morning.

firm brush tips are amazing
