The cable that is included in the box is not the power cable. The cable that is hard mounted to the drive on the bottom is the connection for your computer, that being said, it is a true plug and play. Once I figured out that I was the issue by attaching the wrong cable, it worked seamlessly. This is exactly what I need with my new Dell computer, I now have the ability to copy my projects to a CD and add to or edit as I want without a bunch of keystrokes. If you have purchased a new computer without a built in CD-ROM, this is your fix, as well as some extra ports just makes it a fantastic buy.

Looks good and seems to work fine. Have only used the read function at this time. Will try and use the rest at a later time

It works ok. It had some read errors when first connected, but its fine now.

This item is fantastic, truly plug and play with Windows 11. Just plug it in and it works. Has both USB A and C ends so no adapter needed for all the new "C" only usb devices. Best part is it's also a USB hub providing 3 USB 2,0 outlets and one USB 3.0 on the back. It also has an additional USB C (power only) plug on the back. Added benefits include a SD card slot for camera cards, a Micro SD card reader in the back. So if you have a late model super slim laptop with only a scant few USB slots and no card reader, this one fills the void nicely. Oh and it is fairly priced.

Very nice unit. Extremely quiet. The only problem is that the cord is extremely short. It comes with a longer cord, but Windows 11 did not pick it up to assign it a drive letter (cord-powered unit, but no signal to Windows). I have it plugged into the back of my desktop using the short cord and resting on the side. No issues

I have had this for a while now, and only decided to write a review. First off, I am using Win11 and have no issues with that part. The door quit ejecting for I have to use a paperclip to get it to open, and I have to keep the door open or the drive "clicks" all the time. The USB ports still work, so I am just using the drive for that at the moment. Only recently has the drive stopped spinning disks.

easy to install on my computer and its exactly what I need in a CD DVD Drive now that computers doesn't come with a cd DVD anymore. Its a pain to install software with out a drive. Well worth the money!
