2" Conduit Knockout Punch Unit with Manual Draw Stud - 2.42" Actual Hole Size, Versatile Usage and Precise Punching Capability

Bought the 1-1/2" punch to enlarge an existing knockout in my electrical panel to accommodate a 1-1/2" trade size conduit. With a little of the provided grease, it was surprisingly easy to punch using my standard 1/2" ratchet.

I bought the 2" punch by itself to enlarge a existing 1.5" knockout. It was a bit of a chore to get it centered since I was already working with an existing large hole, but with the shape of the cutting die you can see what you're doing from the side and get it lined up. The hole came out pretty clean, just a slight bent lip on one side probably because I was punching out a thin ring from an existing hole. Just be prepared for the whole assembly to drop out and fall when it punches through if you're doing it vertically. The amount of force needed is is no joke, be sure to wear safety glasses just in case. The only thing I could really knock this for is a lack of included instructions, but there's not much to it, just keep turning the bolt until you hear the second pop and the whole assembly will fall out.

I have several of the GreenLee punches, but I needed one more size, and didn't want to go pay a fortune at the big box store. ( I frequently make electrical control panels, using the Bud steel enclosures) This unit compares quite favorably. The lube it comes with makes a huge difference, After using the UTZIKO punch, I wanted to see how well it worked on the GreenLee ones, and it makes the job go much smoother and easier. Both brands make nice, clean holes with very little burring of the edges, both are easily operated by hand with a wrench. The UTZIKO was easier to clear the cut out plug from the tool afterwards, since it cleanly cut it into two parts, which the GreenLee doesn't. Highly recommended.

I use this knockout punch to get a hole with an actual size near 2 inches. I use this for thin steel jar lids, which this may not be designed for. The one I received has a small nick in the inner punch edge. It has difficulty cutting the thin steel at the base of the two cutting 'teeth' and creases the steel around the edge of the inner punch until it tears instead. This sometimes damages the workpiece. Again, I believe this is designed for thicker steel than what I'm using it for. Considering I only needed this one size vs. a whole set, and the other options are much pricier (even for single punches), this is one and is an ok value.
