Not Explained in Instructions, But More Options for Loud or Quiet
I've owned 2 gymboss timers. One bought in 2011 and one in 2013. I replaced with the Plus. (After 5 years use, the previous gymboss works but the lines that make up the digital numerals are missing in spots, so that an 8 looks the same as a 3 or a 4 - none of the numerals display correctly.) I tried rebooting, new battery and it didn't get wet, but it still remains that way. I'd recommend the Gymboss based on current and on past performance. -The Plus has a LOUD beep. I got it because the description said it's louder but "The beep can be made dimmer". I primarily use it in a loud "Sirius XM Pop Channels" (yuck) gym for weightlifting intervals. I can hear it with in-ear earbuds. I want the low beep for my quieter gym, and not disturb others. The low beep is still loud, BUT what I saw in one of the image views of the timer turned out to be true. It's NOT explained on the Gymboss website or in their expanded directions (which another reviewer, well said, said download the directions, the ones with the timer are a tiny font). There is a + or - slide on the back of the PLUS which I assumed to be the "dimmer" for sound. That makes the low beep better in a quieter, crowded gym. Push the slide to the (-) to cover up the baffles. If you're running outside, or lead a loud indoor group, the loud beep is good. - The loud beep is good for outdoor intervals. It can be heard. I remember that I had used the old Gymboss in the past for walk/run intervals, and could often not hear the beeps with other, street noise. - I'd prefer the Start button to be on the right side, as in my old Gymboss, but it's on the left, and I'll get used to it. - Vibrate mode has never worked for me. I can't feel it -- I always use it on an armband. The new model, however, feels a little stronger. - The loud beep has a "b" (lower case "b" display) and the quieter a "B". Opposite of what it should be. - Setup isn't hard, may get it wrong a few times at first, but you'll get used to changing intervals fast. - Tried using a smartphone Tabata timer instead of Gymboss. Not loud enough, not as simple to use and adjust, and I don't carry my smartphone in gym anyway. Gymboss is easy to set, start, track, and stop (if you don't want to hear 10 beeps for the finish of your session). I wanted the low beep for a quieter gym, and thought the Plus could be "dimmed" lower. Fully closed it seems lower, or at least the same as the base model. But since I may start using it outside again, I'll keep the Plus for that.

Easy to program, Simple interval timer
Got this timer to help time stretching routines and to tabata/Hiit workouts. I wanted a timer where I did not have to look at my phone because I can get distracted easily. Over all i am impressed. It only took me a few times of running through how to program it to get used to it but now I can change programs with in a few seconds. I like that I can clip it on my shirt during my stretch routines and the clip will not accidentally detach. I can also easily remove the clip and lay it flat for my tabata/hiit exercises. The sound is adjustable. I like it loud to hear over my music and I can easily hear it. You can program the beep from 1 to 5 beeps to tell you when the change happens. I do feel like anything over 2 is excessive, but that is the nice things you can program it how you want. The reason I gave it 4 stats is because the batter low light has been flashing about 5 mins after I put fresh batteries in it. It has still functioned properly but I am always thinking that the battery is going to die and I will be in a stretch or set longer than anticipated. Not a huge deal but still something that goes through my mind when using it. Currently I have been using it 4 times a week for a total for 45 mins at at time since I got it which is about a month and a half ago and the battery has not die. Would recommend for a simple interval timer.

Works well as a Pomodoro timer
We use this as a Pomodoro timer and it works very well. The alarm volume is adjustable and it also has a vibration mode if you need to use it silently. The setting are a little confusing, but once you do the first time, you get it. Bought it for a family member and based on their comments, purchased one for myself as well

They stand 100% behind their product
I bought a Gymboss Plus back and July and loved it. It is easy to use, easy to read and the vibration feature allowed me to know when I needed to take a walk break even when I had my earbuds in on a run. So it does all it says it does and does it well. The reason for this review as about a month after buying it the button on the left stopped working so I could not start the timer. I was going to return it, but when I went to my Amazon account I saw the return time had passed. So I sent a message to the seller asking it there was a way I could return it and get a refund or a new one. The next thing I knew they had shipped me one in the mail and I didn't even have to pay to ship the broken one back to them. I love the they stood 100% behind their product and help me to replace the unit with a new one.

Use this for intervals when out on runs. It was easy to set up using a YouTube vid. Fantastic battery life and easy to adjust, small enough to hold in your hand or it clips on as well. Very good build and works as it should

E’ il secondo che acquisto , perfetto per gli allenamenti a circuito tipo HIIT, oppure quando si lavora al sacco da pugilato .

This is the third Gymboss timer I've had and the quality gets worse each time. The first one was one of the early versions that used to be awesome. That one lasted for years but unfortunately I lost it moving house. The second one I only bought last year. The battery cover broke immediately but I taped it up until it failed only months later when the buttons just stopped working. This latest one, I just bought a couple of weeks ago, the battery cover doesn't close at all and the buttons are already getting stuck. Its disappointing that no one else makes a similar gadget. I wish there was an alternative because I don't like having my phone with me when I'm out for a run or at the gym.
