Great product. Very sturdy and looks great

I recently updated my deck by replacing the rails and deck boards. These brackets made the installation of the railing clean and easy. I took off 3/8” for the thickness of the brackets after measuring post to post and it worked every time. The brackets are plastic and strong, but slightly flexible which I think is needed to accommodate differences in lumber - especially wet vs dry treated lumber. They also accommodated existing 6x6 deck posts that were slightly twisted. All of the screws were included and are a black Phillips head. I wish they were star bit screws so I didn’t have to change bits when installing. That is my only suggestion. Otherwise, they made the railing easy and look good. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Ordered a 30-pack. They came quickly, very economically packaged. Molded of very thick, solid plastic with a huge bag of black screws. Great value for a large project. I still need 20 more, so I could've ordered the 50-pack, but plans changed. For anyone reading the 3-star review about the screws not fitting properly, that is incorrect. The 3 screw holes in the face of the bracket are properly countersunk for the screws secure the bracket to the rail (see pics). Once attached to the rail, the four angled holes secure the bracket to the post. If you're staining/painting the wood, do it first, and in any case, coat the raw ends of the rails with exterior paint/stain to protect them from weather. Once you've cut your rail to the exact length, you'll need to trim off ~3/8" to allow space for the brackets. Also, these are made for 2x4s which vary slightly in width, so some may be a bit loose until attached, others may not fit easily without a little coercion on your part...a bit of brute force, sandpaper, a file, etc. I'll be ordering another 20-pack to finish my project. Highly recommended.

I used this to reinforce aging pressure treated deck rails to buy me sometime before I overhaul the whole thing with composite. Functionally, this product works VERY well. I have no complaints and whatever you are using this for will be sturdier than before. For that purpose, I give it 5 stars. I didn't rate it 5 stars overall, however, because I don't love the aesthetics of the finished product. It looks like a patch job and perhaps that is a bit unfair on my part because this is essentially intended for patch job purposes. Overall, this product works and if you can use a cordless drill, you can use this product with relative ease to reinforce your deck.

Design is just right. Even oversized (still wet treated wood) fit without damaging the brace. Holds up well, as I have used them on a few decks now and the homeowners all love the look they provide. 5/5
