Karcher polisher
This is an easy to use machine. I have briwaxed my pine floors & they have. the best shine ever. The three buffing pads that came with them washes out lovely after use. But I did buy some replacement pads just in case & they wotk fine. I couldnt get the KARCHER pads they were out of stock but the universal ones from Amazon works well. The suction works well for picking up bits of dried wax. The lead is good & long. The machine floats along when in use so no weight problem. Ive had several polishing machines over the years & this one is definitely the best ive had.

Great apart from the paper dust bags and polishing pads.
This arrives in a full colour printed, branded box measuring approx 37cm x 29cm x 50cm. Inside, the parts of the machine are packed in cardboard or inside clear plastic bags, along with an illustrated assembly sheet/quick start guide and a full instruction manual in 28 different languages including all the most common European ones. The handle is in 2 parts which need fixing together then attaching to the polishing head with two included screws, but you don't need any tools to do it & you can't fix it the wrong way around as the parts are shaped to only fit one way. The cord is attached to the top of the handle and to the polishing head, but there are cord clips going up the handle length and you fit it into the clips where it is out of the way once the handle is attached. There is a tube which needs attaching from the side of the handle (the hole at the front at the same level is for the hoover bag to attach to), then you plug the other end into the polishing base. It's not as clear on the assembly images as it could be. This comes with a black hoover bag and one paper bag to go inside it, plus 3 polishing mops which fit to the 3 discs on the bottom of the polishing head, so you don't have any spares once assembled. I hate the hoover bag part of this machine. I found it awkward and fiddly trying to attach it to the front, and then you have to try and fumble around inside the black hoover bag to attach the paper bag to the machine. The black outer bag does have a zip but I still found it annoying and badly designed. You also need to fix the polishing pads and the 3 discs they attach to onto the underside of the polishing head. You just press the pads onto the plastic discs (they have bits sticking out) and they catch on in a velcro sort of way. There are cord storage hooks on the back side of the handle to help with storage when not in use, but nearly 40cm front to back, nearly 35cm across the widest point and approx 106cm tall when assembled, so you might want to think about where you will store it. I have to admit it has been years since I've had to use a paper hoover bag, so this seems like unnecessary old tech in a brand new machine to make you have to keep buying things to use your machine. The lead is a really decent length, over 6m so it should be long enough to use in some pretty large rooms without having to move the plug to a different socket. - it comes with a fitted 3 pin plug. This will (from time to time) require additional purchases of sets of polishing pads (between £23-£30 a set) and paper dust bags (best price I could find was about £15 for a set of 3 at time of writing). You will also need floor polish appropriate to your floor type, as this does not come with any (not even a tiny sample bottle). This is a polisher, so you are supposed to hoover then clean the floor before using this and give it time to dry after cleaning. I have a number of other Karcher products I've purchased over the years and found their own cleaning products to be excellent, so I bought the correct Karcher brand polish to use with the machine. It's fairly loud, too loud to use late in the evening as it would disturb any sleeping kids or next door neighbours, but not as loud as my carpet washer is. There is a nice feature which originally stumped me when I first tried to turn it on. You have to tilt the handle back (pressing the on button) for it to start working - you cannot turn it on when it's completely upright. If you push the handle upright it stops immediately. I liked this as if someone knocks on the door, or you want to stop using it quickly, it's very simple. The handle and the upright part of this machine feel cheaper than expected - especially the handle and I'm not sure the handle won't get damaged long before the machine itself stops working. The bits that curve under the top part of the handle to join the body underneath the part you grip are thin enough that I can easily flex them by hooking my thumb onto them and gently squeezing and the whole back looks, in my opinion, unfinished - as if the company were too cheap to put a back on it. I know it's just aesthetics, but if I'm paying over £250 for a thing, I do expect it to look good from all angles. It does a great job bringing up my floors to a lovely shine, but I can't give it 5 stars as it has paper dust bags which make me feel ripped off in this age of dust catchers that you can rinse under the tap and reuse.
