I use it to trim plants and works very well, very versatile and easy to use!

I have an ornamental grass garden and once they go dormant in the winter I have to cut them down to just above ground level. These cutters are great for that task and only a larger, heavier duty hedge trimmer would be better.

This has been a real nice addition to my yard tools. I purchased the extension handle (from another source) and it makes trimming a breeze. I'm 76 with 5 spinal surgeries making it difficult to impossible to bend. This tool has been a godsend. I highly recommend it.
