Absolutely essential textbook
In a world of conflicting YouTube videos on every aspect of auto repair, a comprehensive textbook on the facts behind the skills is absolutely essential. This book provides the basic information that people who want to do their own auto repair must have at their fingertips. Not only does it provide the solid theoretical background for the physical repairs, it also includes a detailed explanation of safety issues and a comprehensive list of tools and equipment needed to do your own auto repairs. To top it off, there’s a super handy metric-to-Imperial conversion chapter, with the formula needed for every component that you might need, from inches to millimeters and liters to quarts. Gift a copy of this book to your high school graduating son/daughter/grandchild!

Great Book
Right from the beginning, they mention that it is a great idea to get to know your car, because then you have the confidence to fix your car and save money. This is true for a lot of problems cars can have. When you don’t know how to do something, call a professional, otherwise go to it. Highly recommend.

Self Publisher - Copy and paste information from other authors
I quickly reviewed the pages and discovered that this appears to be a compilation of content copied from other books. The self-published work claims to be a beginner's guide, but it lacks the depth and information necessary to adequately support someone new to the topic.

But if you are already going to the repair shop for your repair costs, you will be saving money from the very first repair that you do! Also, you learn to know which repairs you are willing to make for friends and people that might pay you on the side and which ones you need to refer them out to a body shop for more extensive or liable work Repairs from Z are covered in here as well as tips for getting your own side, business started or what kind of things to look out for along the way

I’ve always relied on mechanics for even the simplest car issues, and honestly, it felt overwhelming to even think about fixing things myself. But this book completely changed that for me, doesn’t just teach you how to repair your car but makes you believe you can actually do it. The way it’s written is so approachable and encouraging. Great job. Each repair, from basic oil changes to more advanced fixes like brake maintenance and wheel alignment, is explained very clearly including diagrams and safety tips. Even if you’ve never picked up a tool before, you’ll feel like the author is guiding you personally. One of the biggest surprises was how much I learned about saving money. From diagnosing problems without expensive tools to tips on finding affordable parts, I’ve already saved a lot by skipping the mechanic. The sections on emergency preparedness and understanding your car’s systems gave me peace of mind. I love it. Honestly this book made something I used to dread into a skill I’m proud of now. The confidence I’ve gained from being able to fix my car and knowing it’s in my hands is priceless. If you’ve ever felt intimidated like me (because that was my case) by car repairs or tired of paying endless bills, this book is a game changer. It’s more than just a guide it’s actually the freedom and confidence you’ve been looking for. I'm so happy with the purchase. Highly highly recommended!
