Favorite work jacket!
Love everything about this jacket. This is my first time buying anything Carhartt and I am very pleased. The color is nice, the material is super durable, and it fits great.I am usually a size large in jackets or hoodies, because I dont like them fitting too tight. Other reviews said to size down with this one though, and they were right. I ordered a medium and it fits perfect. I'm able to wear a sweatshirt underneath comfortably and still have flexibility with the jacket all the way zipped up. For size reference I am 5' 9" and 175 lbs.I love that the hood actually covers my whole head too without it being too tight or falling back. Sleeves only come up an inch or so with arms fully extended, but it isn't obnoxious. The elastic waistband and sleeve cuffs are very comfortable and make for a better fit as well. So far the coldest the weather has gotten since I've owned it is in the low 50s, and the jacket keeps me extra warm. I'm sure it will still be great in even colder weather. Overall, highly satisfied with this purchase!

Quality work jacket
Some reviews have said this jacket (for women) runs small, but I definitely disagree! It fits exactly as I expected it to, which is to say roomy and long! I'm 5'5" and average/athletic build, and the medium (my usual jacket size) fits me perfectly - room to layer and great length to keep me warm in the cooler weather. I've only had the jacket for a few weeks, but it is working great so far! I'm so pleased at the price here, in comparison to Carhartts elsewhere around the web ($20+ more). The dusty plum purple color is also really nice. My horse seems to love the jacket as well - he keeps licking the front!UPDATE 4/17/15: My jacket is now 3 months old, and it has held up great! In cold weather I can wear a hoodie beneath it, and I'm perfectly toasty. The hood stays up very well, and dirt and horse slime seem to just brush off once dry. This jacket has continued to meet my expectations over this winter's daily barn work, and I am confident it will continue to do so next year and for many years to come.

Love love love this coat.
I absolutely love this coat. I had originally got the small and had to exchange it for an x-small, like everyone else says, it runs big. For me it was the arms looked really bulky, but sizing down took care of that completely. I'm 5'6, 115lbs and it fits me perfectly. It's incredibly warm, I've never owned anything made from duck cotton before and was skeptical of this coats ability to be a winter coat, but I wanted it so bad I thought I'd wear it on "warmer" winter days. It's definitely going to be worn more often this winter than I'd thought! It's very well made, and I love the great construction. It's rugged but the colors other than the usual light "carhartt brown" make it fashionable too. I got the dark brown and I love the look. The zipper is kind of "sticky" at times but it feels like wearing it over time might take care of this. I researched all of the women's carhartt coats for a month before deciding on this one and I'm so very happy with this purchase.

Comfy & durable
I really like this jacket. I am 5'3" and 125lbs. I first ordered a small in the "burl wool" color and it was 1) FAR too large and 2) the burl wool color is NOTHING like the photo (girly soft pink). It is more like burlap tan FYI. I re-ordered in a XS and the purple color. The purple is not as dark in the photo unfortunately, but it is still more feminine so I am keeping it. Fit wise - it is still pretty large for me at the top. But its not bothersome at all for moving around. It is very warm, I can wear a tshirt under here and go out in 30 degree weather and not feel cold at all. I really like that this has the elastic waist to keep the warmth in. This is a very durable jacket that will last a long time. Like others said, the zipper is stiffer when you get it but it does get easier to use over time.

Very Nice Jacket
I was looking for a jacket to wear outside that would be warm, tough, and look good and I found it. I just got it a few days ago and have only worn it a few times. It is a heavy coat with an attached hood, with nice warming pockets for your hands and two inside pockets that close with velcro and a zipper which I find convenient that not many jackets have. I am 5'4" and weigh 115 lbs. I ordered a size small (fits size 4-6) and it fit perfectly for me. I tried it on over 2 layers and it fit without being too tight. I mention this because if, in my opinion, you are a little heavier you may need to order a medium. I order the dusty plum color and am pleased with it because I prefer subtle colors. After buying cheaper jackets that wear out after a couple of years of washing and working in them, I decided to buy one that would last and this fits the bill.

A bit bigger than expected
So many mixed reviews about this jacket. My take on it.....color is nice, it's warm, and functional. That being said, if I had to buy it again, I would have purchased the extra small and not the small. It runs slightly large. It's not so big that I am going to return it, but it's a bit bigger than I would have liked. I could easily layer a hoodie underneath. I am 5'5" tall, 125 pounds, apple shaped, 32D bra size, pant size either 4 or 6 long. I almost always wear a medium blouse, most women's small shirts are too small for my bust. I have long arms for my height and the sleeves are a decent length. I have a short torso and this jacket covers down to the middle of my bum bum. The lining is nicely quilted. The jacket is nice and warm. It has an inside breast pocket that my iPhone 5s fits in, but probably wouldn't fit the 6+. If you like your jackets to be form fitting and you only plan on wearing a tshirt or long sleeve shirt under it, I would go with the extra small, if you want to wear it over a sweatshirt or hoodie then the small is just fine. When I lift my hands above my head the sleeves are an acceptable length and the jacket stays below my belt.

Sturdy work jacket that will keep you damn warm.
Pros- Strong material- Two inside pockets- Room for layering- Relatively warm, would want a sweater underneath for colder weather- Wind doesn't cut through it- Good arm length- Big hoodCons- Huge. Bulky. Stiff. - Upper arms, chest, stomach, and lower back are very bulky and stiff, and seems better suited to a mans form than a woman's.- Colour is not the same as photo, was expecting more of a redish brown but it is more of a bland faded purple.- Price is a bit high for the lack of movement and comfort the jacket has, but this may change as it gets worked in.- Zipper, while seemingly good quality, is stiff and a bit hard to get started at the bottom. Almost like it could use some lubricant of some sort.- Material used inside feels a bit cheap? All in all, price was higher than I would have wanted to pay for something that feels so stiff and bulky in weird areas, but as a work jacket I know it will hold up just fine and last me for a good long while.UPDATE from 3 star too 5 starAfter only a week of wearing this it broke in and formed to my shape quite well. It is still bulky in the shoulders but it is no longer a stiff boxy feel. The material is surprisingly good at sheltering from the wind and rain. The hood has been amazing in all the wind in my area. The zipper has become less difficult to zip up, and though the jacket itself feels thinner it truly does keep you warm. Haven't hit many negatives yet but I'm confident it will hold up. BUY IT!

I <3 Carhartt
I originally got the 1x size which fit well. However, I wanted to be able to layer my clothing under the jacket for colder days, so I exchanged the jacket for a 2x size which fit better when wearing a thick sweater underneath. The jacket is also very roomy and warm enough without any extra layers.

Favourite Coat
I love this coat. I wear it everyday for chores around our acreage. Not quite warm enough to wear as a winter jacket in Northern Alberta, but with a sweater underneath it’s perfect. The color is so pretty, I get plenty of compliments on it!
