I bought 2 of these as Christmas gifts for an upcoming cruise. I plugged them in and they worked fine for regular plugs - HOWEVER I didn't try plugging in the USB into both items until today. Seems that one of them has both misaligned USB ports and there is NO way I can get a plug in there without taking the entire thing apart and trying to bend them up. Amazon is saying I'm beyond the return/exchange time limit - so this was a total waste of money. Such bad customer service. All I want is a working unit. UPDATE: a few days after my post, the owners contacted me for a replacement! I'm very happy because these are really nice units. The other one I have that's working is compact, and perfect for cruises! Their swift response and backing their products is a sign of a very good company. Thank you! UPDATE: I've received the replacement and it works perfectly! Their customer service was outstanding. I would recommend their company highly!

it was compact and fit perfectly in the tiny spaces that cruise cabins have. plenty of access for charging and devices. my devices charged quickly and ran just fine so they were evidently getting enough power. work perfectly no problems.

With all of the concern being voiced by the cruise companies about the danger of surge protected power strips... and not allowing them to be used in the passenger's cabins... I was excited to see a new product... "Travel Power Strip". I ordered two of these units for the upcoming cruises we are taking before the end of the year. Like many of you... our travel electronic gadgets are becoming indispensable as we consider traveling and our need to stay connected. Every cruise we would bring our old surge protected power strip and hope it would not be confiscated. After wrestling with the cords and not enough outlets we were glad to have something to replace it. The new Travel Power Strip is compact yet well built with a very solid feel to the unit. One of the first things we noticed was the unit didn't have any long, brittle cord attached. Instead, the unit plugs directly into the wall outlet (see photo 2) so it doesn't have any cords to get in the way... or for me to trip over and pull out at night. The unit has three standard outlets plus two USB ports (see photo 1). For all of its positive construction, it is a very lightweight piece of equipment... and will easily fit into one of my shoes for safer storage and a place where I won't forget where I placed it when packing! I have used both units in my office and they have worked flawlessly. I've also noticed they do an excellent job of dissipating heat build-up, unlike our old surge protected power strip we have used in the past. The true test of the new Travel Power Strip will be on our upcoming cruise to the Carribean. We do not anticipate any worries at check-in or problems with the units during the cruise. (I have only given this new product four stars but am sure after the cruise we will correct it to five stars.) I would recommend this product to anyone needing a safer power strip for your travels!

I entered an initial review after I first received and examined the "Cruise Power Strip with USB Outlets - Non Surge Protection & Ship Approved" before using it on a recent 15-day cruise. I gave the product four stars based on its construction, variety of outlets, and packaging. I saved the fifth star for performance, and I planned to update the review after my cruise. UPDATE: I expected "great things" from this product. After packing, unpacking, using it, and repacking, this product more than delivered; I now give it FIVE-PLUS stars. Most cruise ships haven't updated their cabin infrastructure fast enough to include extra grounded outlets in cabins, so charging multiple electronics can be challenging. The product slipped easily in the only other outlet on the dresser. (The second outlet was used for the built-in hair dryer.) With the variety of outlets on the power strip, we rotated and fully charged two cell phones, a Kindle, a Samsung Tab (tablet), an iPad, an iPod, and a Mac laptop during our trip; we even charged four items at one time without blowing out any cabin lights. I'm extremely satisfied with this product, and I will pack it first for my future cruises. Well worth the price, and the power strip is attractive and compact. I highly recommend this ingenious product.
