Bought these 5 years ago after deer started nibbling at my vegetable garden beds. Hung them from tomato cages & they worked great. Then 3 years ago stuff happened and I physically (and mentally) couldn’t get around to gardening again. It quickly became an impenetrable mess of weeds, brambles, and honeysuckle. I finally found the energy to reclaim some of them this weekend. I found one of these lights - in the dirt & under a tangle of vines, solar panel dangling by its wires, and the clip on the back broken off. Tossed it in the trash pile and didn’t think anything of it until I walked my dog that night - IT STILL WORKS! Just blinking away like it hadn’t been buried for years.

I bought these out of desperation. I spray the plants with smelly deer repellent, but if it rains or I don't keep up with it, Bambi and crew are most pleased to eat everything in the space of a night or two. I have spent quite a bit of money on landscaping and I don't care to have it regarded as a free salad bar. So.....what to do? I had my doubts these blinkers would really work, but I thought nothing ventured, nothing learned. Well, I'll be damned. Since placing these in my yard 2 months ago every night, I haven't had one single thing eaten or even nibbled on. I followed the advice I read online and placed one in one specific area where all the hostas are and the other in another area where they like to eat things. The trick is to constantly rotate these around your yard, but always within eyesight of where the deer will potentially try to eat your plants. I have placed nails in various tree trunks around my yard about 4' high, so the blinkers are never in the same place too frequently. Another thing I do is take these into the garage and super charge them under a light that stays on all day. They hold a charge and blink for 11+ hours. I gave my parents a set and they have had the same wonderful results....not one hosta touched. And I'll say this. I went out into the yard on a dark night to see the full effect and the creep factor is excellent. I can see why the deer don't like these. They look like red eyes watching. The blinking makes them even creepier. I'd 110% recommend these. These are sooooo worth it and I can finally wake up each morning and enjoy my hostas.....with the leaves still on them!!! Hope I don't jinx myself by writing this reveiw!! Update...I didn't jinx myself and these kept right on blinking through one of the worst night time thunderstorms you can imagine. Update #2....I did not put these out one night because of a bad hurricane that came through. I figured the deer wouldn't be out in that kind of weather. Guess again...no blinkers out, so they ate several hostas. Sneaky, smart little buggers!

hese solar-powered predator lights are very bright and work exactly as expected—no issues with functionality so far. The attachment on the back feels a bit flimsy and could break if you're not careful, so handle with care during installation. I bought these to replace older units that stopped working after about four years due to hazing on the built-in solar panels. Hoping for a similar lifespan with these new ones.

Doesn’t work. There is a nuisance cat that I’ve been trying to get rid of and really wanted this item to work. First night in use the cat fell asleep next to the “predator eye”. Clearly, this DOES NOT work! I will be returning it!

This worked very well for my yard. The population of coyotes in my neighborhood had increased a lot and 2-3 coyotes would visit my yard at a time during the day and night but 4 of these placed in strategic places worked very well to deter them along with putting some chicken wire around my fencing. At first they stopped during the nights but still visited the yard during the day but in the past week or two they have stopped completely. With some sun exposure during the day these devices work throughout the night.

1 is amazing and still going strong since day one, the other not so much. It worked for a day and a half and stopped working. It was exposed to the same amount of sun and we really wish it works like the other one. They have great little hooks or a tripod stand so you can put them in different locations around your chicken tractor (or coop).

It is almost 2026 and this constant SUN BAKED, SNOW SLAMMED solar powered predator eye is STILL going strong. Its even cracked in places due to exposure - no matter. Incredible product. Buying more. Wow.

Had now for almost two years, still running, not missed a beat. Through all extremes of weather, freezing cold to down pours to heatwaves. The "eyes" pulse all through the dark hours, providing a deterrent. Simply every month or so, move them slightly around, to keep the animals guessing.
