Love this bowl
I have 1940 wooden floors that have lost their finish. My newfie was dropping lots and lots of water on the floors after drinking from a regular water bowl (he puts his entire face up to his eyes in the water bowl) . I constantly had towels on the floor (like you would a carpet runner) it looked terrible. The towels would get wet, so then there was wet towels laying on the floor. I was at my wits end, and so worried about having to replace the floors because of the water. And the water was not just where the bowl was, it was all over the house. I bought the Slopper Stopper figuring if it didn't work I would send it back. I was also hesitant about the price. I've had it maybe 3 months now and I can't believe how well it works. I don't need towels to line the floors all over the house anymore. It actually works.........and for that reason I'd say it is definitely worth the money. A word about customer service: When I received my order it came with a Large top instead of a Mammoth top. I was pretty sure that I ordered the largest since my dog is now near 150 lbs. It was a weekend, so I called and left a message. Before Monday the owner sent me a text about my call and then he called me Monday as well. He sent me a new lid the size that I wanted and did not require me to send back other lid even though I offered. He was very personable and I enjoyed speaking with him. He really goes above and beyond to make sure that his customers are taken care of. Pros: My dog drank from the bowl immediately with any hesitation Now more dripping water all over the house The bowl holds a lot of water and only needs to be changed ever 2-3 of days It's easy to clean, stainless steel and heavy duty plastic top Feels solid and good quality Soap and water clean up is easy Cons: The cons are minimal but I'll mention them. The plug that is used to create the water pressure when refilling the bowl is also good quality, but hard to get a hold of if you don't have strong fingers, or a good grip. Perhaps there could be a little more to grab hold of. But I still get it to work just fine. FYI, you do not have to push the stopped far into the whole just create a seal when adding the top to a full bowl of water. The only other thing is that my dog slobbers so much and sometimes leave pieces of food in the water bowl that the water usually reaches contamination when there's about 1-2 inches of water left in the bowl. For that reason I feel like sometimes I'm wasting water (but I usually use it to water plants). If your dog is not a massive slobber-er you probably will not have this problem. It's not that big of a deal. I love this thing. It has been a life saver. I'm so glad that I took a chance on this purchase.

Yes, it works!
I never thought I'd spend $50 on a dog bowl, let alone feel compelled to write about it. But here we are. If you're tired of dealing with endless puddles created by your dog's enthusiastic drinking habits, this bowl is a game-changer. We've always had a few drops here and there from our dogs drinking, nothing a simple mat couldn't handle. Then our golden retriever joined the family, and those drops became puddles and rivers throughout the house. I couldn't figure out how trails of water were appearing 30 feet from the bowl until I watched her drink one day. She lifted her head, and I swear there were actual streams of water cascading from her muzzle for a solid three seconds. We tried a bowl with a floating top to limit water access, but within days, she outsmarted us and figured out how to submerge her entire face anyway. Enter the Slobber Stopper, an intriguing feat of engineering. Yes, it requires a bit more effort than just filling a regular bowl. There's a stopper you insert when attaching the lid, creating a vacuum that controls water availability. Will we inevitably lose this crucial piece someday? Probably. But for now, we're enjoying our puddle-free existence, so it's worth the extra effort. The bowl insert is sized, so be sure to order the right one for your dog. We have two different-sized dogs, so we opted for the larger size to accommodate both, and it's working well for each of them. As a bonus, the bowl holds about a gallon, so I usually only need to fill it once a day. If you're tired of feeling like you live in an indoor water park courtesy of your furry friend, the Slobber Stopper might be the solution you never knew you needed. It's not perfect, but it's certainly made our floors a lot drier and our lives a little easier.

Amazing Slobber Box!
I have a Basset Hound who is a very messy eater and drinker. He doesn't have any lower teeth, so water quickly runs right out of his mouth. He slurps more than he laps water, so I have lived with slobbery water trails on my kitchen floor for all of the 11 years I've had him. He is a fabulous dog, but I've been worried I'm going to slip and fall on the slobbery water-covered tile in my kitchen. I have been looking at the Slobber Stopper bowl for awhile, but the steep price tag kept me from buying it. Finally ordered it via Amazon because you can return it if it doesn't work! I got it about a month ago and now I can't imagine living without it! It keeps my dog from getting a big face full of water. It also prevents his Basset ears from falling into the water bowl. He drinks slower because, while it holds A GALLON of water, he only has access to about 1/3 of an inch. It keeps a constant shallow water level, which is perfect! The water bowl doesn't get full of dirt and kibbles, either. I still change it every day because I like to wash it to keep it nice. I will say that I think I'd prefer a clear bowl so I could see when it was low on water, but I'm used to filling the bowl every morning, so I just continue doing that. I did purchase some nylon pliers to help me get a grip on the slobber stopper plug. I have arthritis and my pinch grip is affected, so the pliers make that easier for me. It comes with extra plugs for the air hole, but not an extra plug for the center. I ordered a spare, just in case, for $6. I purchased the giant size because they were out of medium and large, and the oversized bowl works even for much smaller dogs. So far, we've shared the bowl with a 90 lb Boxer, 18 lb Boston Terrier, and 38 lb Shiba Inu. The water trails are almost non-existent with all sizes via the giant bowl! We recently traveled and stayed in a hotel with my Basset for NYE, and had the bowl on carpet with no dribbles! Truly amazing product. Worth the hefty price tag if you are tired of wiping up slobber water trails!

Quite expensive for what it is but very good quality. Sturdy, stable. Easy to clean. Took about 3 days for my GSD girls to get used to it. They’ve stopped gulping water now. Stopped throwing up afterwards too. I am no longer a slave to the dry mop. I fill it twice daily for my two 7 month old German shepherds as they drink a lot ( 80 lbs and 50 lbs in dog weight) both actually lay down and drink from it now. Wish I’d had this product years ago. My socks are dry again. It keeps around 90% of the water in the bowl. Ingenious but simple design. I fill the bowl in the sink, with the clear lid off. Place the clear lid on and then put the black plug in. I put the bowl on the floor and then pull out the plug. I find it’s easier to manoeuvre that way. Don’t forget to keep that black plug by the sink, somewhere safe. When they’re available again I will be buying another one.

We've had this bowl a few months now. Its a game changer. When full, it will last 3 dogs one full day. Since its arrival, pools of water and overturned water bowls are a thing of the past. We've come home a few times to find it in the middle of the kitchen floor, so our water loving hound hasn't given up trying to play in the water and overturn the bowl - but the bowl remains in one piece and no spills. Totally worth the money.
