This bronzer is like liquid courage for my skin. One minute I’m Casper’s distant cousin, and the next I look like I just got back from a luxurious beach vacation where someone else paid the bill. Tanologist Insta Glow gives instant results—like, “who is she?” levels of transformation—without the awkward orange undertones or streaky regrets. It blends in like a dream, dries quickly (bless), and doesn’t smell like I rolled around in a bucket of regret and coconuts. The finish? Glowy, not glittery. More “healthy goddess” than “disco ball under pressure.” And I appreciate that it’s non-committal—washes off when I’m done pretending I own a yacht. Bonus points for the hyaluronic acid and vitamin C. I didn’t expect skincare-level ingredients in a bronzer, but here we are, moisturizing and bronzing like overachievers. If you want people to ask if you just got back from somewhere expensive, this tube’s your new best friend. I plan on using it all year long—especially during “why is my skin this color in February” season.

I like the color but the smell is off-putting for me. I’ve purchased this before and it was in a white tube. There was no smell at all. Now they’ve changed the formula and it’s scented. Fruity, but very weak? It’s not good. I’ve tried using a scented lotion with it to try and cover up the smell but it didn’t help. I’ve tried using a whole body deodorant spray to try and cover the smell and that didn’t help either. It just smells terrible to me. Zero stars for the scent. But I do love the color especially to blend in when my self tanner is starting to fade. Don’t apply too heavily or it looks strange. You need to blend it in quickly. Using small amount of lotion will make it easier to blend the product but then I feel like it transfers to clothing more readily. It is easier to use gloves to apply. It can be difficult to remove from the palms of your hands when you have applied the product to arms, legs and décolleté. I have to use a nail scrub brush to get it off. I usually apply it then buff my skin with a towel(after it’s dried) and I don’t notice as much transfer(very minimal) onto clothing. Any water or sweat will cause spots or streaks. Maybe have a dry washcloth/paper towel handy if you think you’re going to encounter any water so you can buff over your skin quickly to blend in any streaks.

Made me look like an Oompa Loompa. I’m so sad! I really wanted to like this!! It also washed off easily, which was good for me but I thought it was supposed to stay on better. It also definitely transfers to your clothes and said it doesn’t. Definitely not worth $20.

I’ve tried several different brands, but this has been my favorite. I got the medium and it works really well with my skin tone. It doesn’t give off any orange vibes! Perfect for fall/winter months when my natural tan has faded! I shave, exfoliate, and use every 5 days or so. I prefer doing it in the morning, wearing loose clothing and then showering before bed for the best IMO results! I recommend this to all of my friends

This is more of a make-up type bronzer than a self-tanning bronzer, which is what I expected. For an instant tan where you don't have hours to wait for the color to show up, this works well. I would compare it to Westmore Beauty Body Protector in that sense. You need to put it on quickly bc it dries super fast - even faster than the Westmore - and becomes impossible to unstreak at that point. I use disposable latex gloves rather than a brush to apply - bc this will also stain your hands unless you wash them vigorously in soapy hot water for 5 min afterwards. Like the Westmore and makeup/foundation, my biggest gripe is that this product sits on top of your skin vs being absorbed - and thus it prevents your skin from being able to breathe - so in my case that means sweating when I might otherwise not do so, which is icky because you can practically feel the product coming off on whatever you're wearing (my sheets at night!!!). My other gripe is that it doesn't last as long - it comes off in the first shower (the Westmore lasts at least 2-3 showers). Can't speak to longevity in a pool or the ocean but I don't see this lasting beyond a 10 min swim. The color it provides is decent - much deeper and more realistic than the Westmore. And the smell is fine - it's not that nasty self-tanning smell so yay. Bottom line, I'll use when I need color on my legs and have no time to wait as long as I won't be swimming and can wear dark colors so I don't streak my clothes when I sweat. It's cheaper and IMO looks better than Westmore (but then I don't need the "uniform coverage" that Westmore provides...just the color). But I will go back to Fake n Bake when I want a tan that will last longer.

Love the product! The lotion doesn’t smell like your typical self tanners. It has a coconut smell that goes on smooth. The brush is great as well. Typically, I put this on after getting ready to give my tan an extra darkness. Allow the product to soak into your skin if you plan on wearing light colored clothing.
