Discovered eating places I had never knew existedand look forward to visiting in 2016!

Not mega impressed by this. Its got a kind of self-regarding parochial trendiness about it, and has the feel of something that's been put together as a tourist board marketing exercise.I've eaten out loads of times in Manchester, and while it's understandably not as good as London for food, it does have a very solid cooking tradition. But this book doesn't really capture that, and is a bit more like the kind of advertorial content you might see in You magazine.I think this book is an okay try - but it could have been less salesy and more cheffy.A propos of the above, here are my favourite Manc eating spots:Greggs bakers at the Arndale. Business is brisk in this charming little bakery, staffed by very hard working and polite staff. The selection of hot treats will knock you out, especially if you are a bit starving. The sausage rolls are amazing, and great washed down with Coca Cola.McDonalds, Market Street. Good selection of burgers. Extensive seating. The Big Mac, when you are in the mood, will bring tears of joy to your face.San Carlo - it's big, it's a bit flashy, it serves great grub. I don't know if the lobster linguine is still on the menu, but OMG is it tasty.Taco Bell (Arndale) - superb American experience. Very filling. A bit no frills.Thairish Cafe (Levenshulme) - it's Thai, it's Irish, what's not to like?
