Ju-On: The Grudge - All-Region UHD

So, let’s talk about the frustration that has been owning a physical copy of this film.Released in the early 2’s as a DVD, along with Grudge 2 (better hang on to that one if you have it, people asking top dollar around here for it), it never got any kind of special release or even a blu. There is a Japanese box set of the films (from Curse to Black/White Ghost I believe) but it’s rather expensive.Along comes Arrow, as usual, to save the day.The transfer is as clean as can be. Maybe more of a high level blu over a 4k on some spots, but it always looks like how it was shot. It’s not over processed or so cleaned it looks like it’s on Netflix (oh, as I mention it, there’s a Grudge series there, it’s terrible). The colors don’t get murky and the grain is just right. What really impressed me most was the clean up of the sound design- really quite nicely done.A slew of extras, even Sam Raimi gets in on a Commentary.This presentation is a long time coming. Definitely worth it if you love the film.Arrow: please do Grudge 2?
