desertcart.com: One Bite With A Stranger (The Others, Book 1): 9780312947934: Warren, Christine: Books Review: Funny with a Twist - This story is fast paced and the storyline is different. It is a must read into the paranormal world of what is called the " Other Series." A steamy romance about a fantasy fix for Regina by her friends. Regina wants to be romanced by a vampire. The twist is she meets Dimitri who is not the fix her friends arranged for her to meet but a real vampire. He reads her mind and gives her the type of romance she has been craving. The story is funny at times while you meet many different types of "Others" who help round out the storyline and intorduce you to their world. Since reading this book I have have read all Christine Warrens "Other Series" Love Them.... Review: Thin, but fun- and in line with the series - This book is actually an expansion of a short story that I never read. Technically speaking the story here is really BOOK 1 of the "Others" series, but having read them so far in the order the books were published I can tell you it doesn't matter at all. It doesn't detract from this book or the series to read this one after the previous 5 books. As far as this particular story- it is a little thin, as in, you can tell it is a short story that has been expanded. Not really much plot beyond the basic romance, though it tries. Big thing of note- the female character is well done. She is a strong, intelligent, independant woman who has sexual fantasies that have never been entertained and aren't the kind that are easily shared for that kind of woman. She ends up, almost by accident, with a very old, dominant vampire willing to indulge her and respect her at the same time. In the end, no one had to "submit" to anyone anywhere but in the bedroom. After reading the last book, WALK ON THE WILD SIDE (which I HATED), this was my greatest fear- this this was a nice way to re-engage me in the series. All around a fun, light read.

Dimitri and Regina
Dimitri is a vampire, and Regina is a human woman. Regina has some friends, and there is this arrangement that they all made one night while they were getting drunk together. They would set each other up on a date, and their wildest sexual fantasies would happen with whoever they were fixed up with. Dimitri and Regina met at a goth club because Regina wrote that she wanted a date with a vampire. They all knew vampires did not exist, so they went to a goth club to find the next best thing. Nobody knew that vampires were really real. Guess what they do, and Regina found out the hard way after being attacked by one. Dimitri realized that Regina is his mate, and now he just has to get her to accept that fact. Read the book to find out what happens!

Love the Wolfman, Vampire, Jaguar! !Oh, My !!
Great stories, wonderful characters, terrific fun. "The Others" are fun, different and leave you wanting more. Good series and Christine Warren weaves an intriguing tale. "Misha" is a cool vampire and wins his mate with flair. Sexy alpha Vamp meets his mate, and the sparks fly. The series really knows how to develop the relationships. Well written, fun, and interesting. ENJOY !!!

This wasn't a romance, it was erotica
I have no problem with erotica. None. However, had I known this was erotica instead of a novel with a plot, I would not have paid $11.99 for it. I never pay attention to fussy complaints about romance novels being too graphic, because let's be real here. It's just part of the genre. If you don't want to read sex scenes, either skip over them or vet your books more carefully. Because any romance novel with a sex scene or two will get comments like this, I ignored reviews for this book that said it had too much sex. My review is for others like me -- fyi, this book really is just about sex. Sure, there's a teensy bit of plot, but it's not much. No judgement if that's what you're looking for, but you could probably find it cheaper elsewhere.

Best vampire romance ever
This was the first romance novel I ever read, and afterwards I was hooked. Well written, extremely sexy hero and stubborn heroine, and overall a fantastic storyline with some very sexy scenes. Personally, I was hardly able to put it down! Recommeded to anyone who likes a good, sexy romance novel! Definately my favorite. If only there were more men like Dmitri!

Very enjoyable read
I like Christine Warren and have enjoyed her stories for a long time. I'm a big fan of She's No Faerie Princess, and just re-read it again recently. So that got me looking for more from her. This one was interesting and fun. I didn't care as much for the somewhat forced construct of the gaggle of gal friends in the background forcing the heroine to have a fling to get over her cheating ex, but once the story got underway between the vamp hero and the heroine - that's when the author's voice really shines. Off to find my next read from Ms. Warren.

When quiet Regina's friends insist on helping her get over a cheating ex by making one of her fantasies come true, she dreams up a vampire and dominance scenario that can't possibly be made happen. Or so she thinks. Her friends force her into kinky gear and take her to a vamp-wannabe club where she meets...Dmitri, the sexiest guy she's ever seen and, without her knowing it, an honest-to-God real vampire. A world of 'Others' exists side by side with the human world and Dmitri, high up in its ranks of power, finds himself falling for Regina. This is a funny, hot and enjoyable story with very likable characters. Dmitri is sexy and believable. The world of 'Others' is plausible. The sensual scenes are hot, though the dominance touches somehow come across a bit silly and the love scenes that don't have them are written better. Regina's submissiveness is a little exasperating and one is relieved when she not only becomes Dmitri's equal, but stands up for herself against their enemies and her friends in the end. All in all, an enjoyable read. I recommend it.

This is a great Christine Warren read about the earlier years of the world of 'Others'. Just be warned though, if you buy ebooks, it was previously published as an ebook several years ago under the title of 'Fantasy Fix'.

I feel like it has a great story line, great characters but it is missing something! for the price it is i though it would be better. I feel that it ran a littkle dry at the end. However it is still a good book. Just not something i could reread.
