I read in an review to soak seeds longer for it to be easier to apply which is true. Soak at least 30 mins or longer (longer the better). My daughter found loose seeds in the tray that fell that were easier to apply the next day. Daughter and I both had fun with this. Plant is only expected to last 2 weeks. We have plant food and grow light so we are seeing how much longer we can get them to live. It had extra seeds so you can repeat the project again roughly 2-3 times. FYI Chia plants and seeds are healthy to eat

This is my first experience with a chia pet so I wasn’t sure what to expect. We started the process on a Sunday and within days we could see roots sprouting. Fast forward about ten days and our chia pet has a full grown head of chia plant! It’s a simple process and can be used as a learning tool for kids (maybe not the Rick and Morty variety but you get the idea). I also now see why they call it a chia “pet.” It requires some care throughout the process. The instructions mention that there are enough seeds for three grows. Some minor snags might be that the seed paste slides down on to areas that aren’t supposed to have seeds...and they will absolutely sprout wherever they land. It’s an easy fix though; just wipe them off. And if you let your chia pet outside to get some sun, bugs may make a home.

The Chia Pet Sonic the Hedgehog is such a cool and fun twist on a classic. The details on Sonic were better looking than I expected. Even before the chia grows, and once it starts sprouting, it’s really fun to watch it come to life. My kids loved to wake up each morning or check when they got home from school to see how much grew. The chia seeds grew evenly and pretty quickly, but did find it was only as long as you follow the instructions. It’s easy to take care of, I kind of left that to my kids to do, and they were able to handle it no problem. It makes a great display piece on a desk or shelf. We had it on a shelf in the kitchen, and got so many questions and complements, that we gave those people chia pets for their birthdays and the loves them too. It’s both a fun activity and a unique decoration. Overall, this is a great gift for Sonic fans or anyone who enjoys Chia Pets. It’s entertaining, easy to use, and looks awesome when fully grown. I’d definitely recommend it!
