Bought this for my grandson for his birthday. He thinks it’s very cool and uses it as a night light by his bed. It isn’t bright and connects snug on the wall like a torch. This Minecraft inspired torch looks nice, as far as resemblance to the pixelated game, but I expected a bit more from it for the price. For starters, I was hoping it would be a bit brighter so that my son, who is a Minecraft fan, could use it as a torch/flashlight of sorts if he gets scared at night. However, the light it emits only amounts to “ambient lighting,” if anything. It still looks nice, just I see it as more of a decorative fixture than anything else. And this is where the problem lies; if you want to hang this and use it as a decorative lamp fixture, you’ll run into the issue that the charging port is on the bottom base, so it is completely inaccessible when the bottom angled flap is opened to affix on the wall. So it can’t even be kept on for the sake of decoration as you will need to remove to charge the battery, with the utterly short mini usb cable included. Also, there isn’t any type of animation or cycling between the light schemes, it is just a straight change. They really missed the opportunity to have a bit of a changing effect to simulate basic pixelated flames or something similar. All in all, a fun novelty for Minecraft lovers, but not much use out of it other than looking cool, and for the price, I should have bought the other listing that comes with a pair of these instead of 1, with the difference being the other product only changes to 4 different colors instead of this one having 8.
