First pull start guaranteed
I used this on my wheeled weed eater. There was always a problem with the primer because the way it is in the air filter. I also had trouble with a cheap carb, the seal inside the bowl came loose after some time so started leaking gas, that’s when I came across this kit, I changed everything out except for the springs, it primed right up and just as other have said it started with first pull, had perfect idle, so far everything runs great, it was a super fast and easy install. My only concern is people have mentioned the quality of it, so hopefully the seal in this one don’t go out. At least this should finish up the year and I would highly recommend this if you are in a tight spot, need to finish some yard work and don’t have a ton to spend on OEM parts. For what I needed it for this was perfect, great little all in one kit for the price.

Fit perfect. Fixed the issue.
Kit contents: My mower would run very well and kept dying during use. After still having the issue following a replacement of the spark plug and blade, I determined I needed to replace the carburetor as a last effort. I was a little skeptical at first, but this kit ended up having everything I needed to replace my carburetor. It actually came with a few extra parts which I assume were for different mowers with similar components. The installation was easy and this fixed the issue. Everything runs great and starts and runs with a single pull. I would absolutely recommend this product.

Small Briggs engine carburetor kit.
Exact Carburetor that I needed. Installed and working great. It was a very good price and value for this complete kit which included gaskets, air filter, spark plug, and inner air filter housing.

Mower runs like new again!
My 6.5hp Craftsman mower was getting hard to start and surging while running. Did the usual, replaced the spark plug, ran some seafoam in the fuel to no avail. Looked at a number of carburetor kits and this one had ALL the necessary parts. Easy to install. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5... The hole in the throttle valve where the governor link attaches was too small. I had to drill larger. Mower runs like new again. This kit is definitely a good value for what was paid.

Fit on 6.5 B&S engine
My old mower was leaking fuel and hard to start. When it started it's only run for a few seconds and die. After installing this kit, it starts and running good. Fit 6.5 B&S engine...

You may need to tap the holes for the air cleaner screws
I have an old Craftsman 917.388391 push mower. The carburetor on it had been acting wonky, and carb cleaner wasn't fixing it. I was planning to rebuild that original carb, but a friend of mine recommended replacing it with this one. He claimed that his bolted right on and works well -- and the price was well below a rebuild kit. I had read one other review where the person had to re-tap the holes for the air cleaner screws. As it turned out, I had exactly the same problem. When I tried to bolt everything back together, it was obvious that those two air cleaner screws would have stripped if I had forced it. FYI -- the tap needed was a 10-32 (very similar to a 5mm 0.8 metric, but it is NOT the same). So I had to buy that 10-32 tap plus a tap handle, and that added $15 to get this job completed. There was A LOT of material that the tap cleaned out of those holes. Regardless, once those two holes were tapped properly, everything bolted back together and the mower runs well. Assuming that it lasts, I will still be satisfied with this purchase.

I ran into 2 issues, 1 not related to the carb. Gaskets are exact match, carb is easy to install but keep this in mind if you haven't done one before. I found the O ring gasket and the matching surface on the carb didn't seat well to the intake flange. The carb seated right up to the flange and the engine wouldn't start. The old carb needed a bit of a squish with the new gasket to contact the flange. So the new carb seat is maybe .5mm deeper causing a poor seal. A thin layer of RTV around the carb and up to and including the O ring created a good seal. Now others have mention about the air intake being plastic. I found the primer didn't work at all. I noticed on the gasket the witness mark, from the plastic housing, after being left on for a few days was not even. A thin bead or film of RTV around the plastic housing paying close attention to the air channel for the primer and to keep the channel clear especially the vent hole for the primer through the gasket. So the gasket is sealed to the plastic housing which created a properly functioning primer. Follow the instructions for the RTV, press piece together lightly, hand tight on the mounting bolts then snug up after and hour. 3 pumps with the primer and the motor started up. Stopped it for a few minutes, pulled and it started as it should. I have new primer bulbs on order as this mover is 23 years old but runs very well. Craftsman 21" with B&S 6 HP motor 12H802 2639 B1. FYI I chose this carb as the number of reviews was high. The carb works perfectly, fit and finish is perfect. Just the one little issue which was easily resolved.
