Son got this for our cats and sometimes dogs lay on it also. It must work cause they sure do love it. It’s a nice size and seems durable not flimsy. It has that fluffy surface that they enjoy making biscuits on too. I have not washed it so I don’t know how it does for washings, but the cats really do love it!

I've purchased this self warming mat several times. I put one on our wicker chair in our outside screened in porch to use for the neighborhood outside stray kitty that likes to hang there during the Spring and Fall months. I have another one in the outside cat house I have for him and another one inside our garage on top of a heavy blanket to help shelter and keep him warm during rain and windy conditions. AND I purchased another one for my own inside cat. He loves to snuggle on it on my work table behind my laptop. Love this self warming mat LOL! Highly recommend!

Update: Cat loves it now. Wife complains because he won’t leave it to sleep in bed with her anymore. I initially misunderstood that it wasn’t a powered based on not reading closely enough - and the exterior does not feel any warmer than normal couch after he leaves. But it definitely does something. Original review: It’s nowhere near as warm as an electric blanket, as it seems to compare itself to. The cat is fine with it, but it doesn’t seem to prefer it over a regular blanket or towel, and it doesn’t feel any warmer than those either.

It was love at first site. I thought that it was too thin, but kitty immediately started making biscuits, so who am I to judge. I laid it across my legs to get him used to the mat. Its now his new go to nap spot.

My cat loves this warming mat. I have the warming mat on my couch and I love that my cat sits/lays next to me all the time now.
