I’ve got a dry hair type that needs heavy conditioning. I’ve found most hair masks in the past regardless of price point did not do anything for my hair. I tried this one out with hesitation because I previously did not have a stellar experience with the intensive repair conditioner. So I gave the bond strength mask a go. And I’m fairly surprised. I saw the results after only 3-4 uses. The texture of the product is thick, but not too thick. The mask glides through the hair quite nicely. I wouldn’t say it has a serum like texture. I would say it just feels like a regular cream deep conditioner. It’s not oily either. As soon as it hits your hair, you immediately notice that your tangle start to unravel at least that’s what happened to me. I leave mine in anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes with the shower water off and then I follow up with a regular conditioner. Just to “seal” everything in, but that’s not even necessary because this mask does the job. The smell is pretty good. I would say most people would like it. It’s not floral and not sweet. It just has a nice perfumey scent. My hair feels a lot smoother after I style it, and it stays sleeker for longer even up to 8 days. As far as the ingredients go. I know that apparently dove has patented the technology out in their damage repair lines so I can’t speak too much on that but for what it’s worth this mask those contain a lot of solid ingredients for conditioning the hair such as silicones and fatty alcohols. Don’t shy away from this mask just because of the hype. Obviously different things work for different people, but at the end of the day. It’s worth a shot because of how affordable it is. And how much success you’re probably going to have with it.

This smells sooooooo amazing I’m addicted. I can’t speak to how well the bond repair is yet since I’ve only used it once but the smell alone is worth it. My hair felt softer, had great shine and and it gave great slip for detangling. The scent last a long time as well which I LOVE.

A great conditioning product. Makes my hair so soft. I have tried more expensive, aalon brands but this one works best on me. Will not be switching unless they discontinue it.

It works really well in terms of making sure your hair becomes or stays healthy. It's also easy to rinse out despite being super thick. It's essentially like a super thick conditioner and it does leave my hair very soft and shiny. It's easy to brush through afterwards and any potential tangles just resolve on their own. One tub lasts a long time. I keep thinking I'm using a huge portion, yet I never seem to make a true dent in the tub. I will say that it has a very strong scent that I wasn't prepared for. I can only use it occasionally because it triggers my asthma.

I can see why this product is so well loved, the hype is real. For someone with coarse thick hair, this product was able to tame my hair while keeping it soft and hydrated. This smell is incredible. Definitely a repurchase for me.

I ended up purchasing products from this line including the shampoo, conditioner, and hair mask because Abbey Yung recommended them. They were so affordable, I thought they were worth trying. I know people say this in reviews, and I’m skeptical when I read it, but my hair felt so soft after the first use. And after using this hair mask, it feels extra silky soft. I know my hair is not actually repaired after one use, but it feels so nice and looks better. I recommend checking out Abbey Yung’s IG page, or her YouTube channel for more information on how these products work. I understand the ingredients scare some people who have bought into the “clean beauty” fallacy, and find one post villainizing those ingredients on a “clean beauty” brand website and then come to review the products saying they are toxic or will damage your hair. No. Look at actual science-based research, not information from a “clean beauty” site trying to push their agenda. Don’t read the AI generated summary on Google and think that is based on fact. It’s just a summary of what the websites with the top hits have written. The only thing that might be an issue for people is the heavy fragrance. I love the scent, but you may not. It’s a typical floral salon haircare scent.

The product seems to work well, making my hair soft and smooth. Has not helped a ton with frizz yet, but maybe with more uses it would. My biggest issue is the awful smell. It is such a heavy perfume smell, like nothing I've ever had from Dove, who usually has products geared towards those that are sensitive (skin etc). No idea why this does not come in an unscented version or why the scent is NOT on the label in an obvious way like "Dove Hair Mask- Floral Scent" so I'd have been warned. I smelled it when I opened the product but assumed it would wash out-- like it was just because the product was concentrated in the container but no. My husband and son both recoiled when I came out to the living room after using and rinsing it thoroughly and asked what smelled. These are not people with sensitive noses. So, if you like a heavy floral perfume smell, this may be for you. I will use it sparingly if at all however. Very dismayed.

I was disappointed to find that the hair mask arrived unsealed and appeared to be previously opened. Furthermore, the cover was damaged and had noticeable black marks, which is unacceptable
