If you know, you know. What do I mean by that…..well Ramset is the name I think of when I need one provide a strong mount in concrete such as in the basement. Too often pounding with a sledge hammer serves only to chip the wall surface and fail to provide the much needed strength available when mounting items on your concrete walls. I had the style that was a little less expensive that required me to hit the end with a hammer to fire the fastener into the concrete. I’d still be using it after the 20+ years I’ve had it except it met the fate of many of my hand tools. Yes, I lost it. That said, I definately got my money worth of use from the old one but had always really wanted the trigger fired model because using the other type seemed to require having 3 hands to be able to hammer the tool, hold the fastener, and hold the item being secured. I seemed to miss frequently, often requiring several strikes from the hammer or causing the fastener to be off the mark or bent. If you plan on using this tool more than just once or twice, I’d recommend spending the small amount extra to get this better and easier to use design.

Building my house on a slab and use this to secure wall sections to floor. Very happy with build quality and function. It’s very easy to use and surprisingly quiet.

Wow it's great and fun to use. I had an older tool that required a hammer to drive nails into cement. This is so much easier and accurate.
