for whatever reason amazon it not making it readily obvious there is an adapter for this (that they sell) im not thrilled that i had to buy this as an import from Germany because there is no US version, however i have two other Bosch tools, i CAN use my current 18v battery and charger, there is just a in between adapter you have to use, all of my equipment now works fine. if you think this little chainsaw is what you need?? then just get this too https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CLBDCPPF i just have to cut small branches and i want to use all my stuff i spend and extra $17

You need to get a battery adapter through Amazon # BOSB18C to use USA style professional 18 volt Li-ion Bosch batteries. Nice hand held battery chain saw, nicely made, cuts well, but does not have automatic chain oiling.

Do not buy this chainsaw if you live in the United States. I did and now I can not buy batteries or a charger. I called Bosch and they told me the saw I purchased was not made to be sold in the US and that was why the charger and batteries I bought were incompatible. Now I have to pay to ship it back to South Korea to get any refund, I will be able to get a full refund on the charger and batteries.

Great little chainsaw if you have the Bosch 18v batteries. Easy to assemble and excellent power to cut branches on trees or dead wood, with one hand rather than having a large two handed chain saw.
