Nice smoky umami flavor. When you put it in, you may get a bit foul smell, but as you cook it in high flame, the smell goes away and the taste and fat develops. You can also add it as a fat in chinese soups/soupy noodles. It's healthier than refined oils if used occasionally because this fat is high in cholesterol and saturated fat. If you consume mustard oil for daily cooking, and use this fat occasionally (suppose when you cook fried-rice or chinese soupy noodles or indo-chinese dishes) you are good to go.

smells like rendered fat, just like when i do it myself. Certainly better than refined oils. But alarmed to find it has a 4 month expiry date. I had no idea lard could have expiry. have to use it fast.

Worth the money

The product I received was liquid. I am not sure if it is original. Lard is supposed to be semisolid

Bought this pork lard for my keto diet to replace vegetable oils with animal fats. As an Indian who has never eaten pork in my life, this was my first try.The smell hit me the second I opened the jar – extremely strong and unpleasant, like something rotting. It stayed just as intense during cooking and made the whole kitchen smell awful. Tried it three times, but the odor and off taste were too much. Threw the rest away.Back to ghee now – smells great, tastes delicious, and perfect for keto. If you’re not used to pork fat, this one’s probably not for you.
