Because the Amazon Fire TV Sticks are powered via a micro-USB port sticking out the side, an right-angle micro-USB cable is necessary to avoid having the cable sticking out perpendicularly. However, most right-angled micro-USB cables seem to be angled in the wrong direction, such that they direct the cable toward the TV and not toward the power adapter, making them even more awkward for powering the FireStick than straight micro-USB cables. This product is one of only a few right-angled micro-USB cables that is angled in the proper direction for this purpose. I have this cable for one room where the TV is close to the AC outlet, and a longer one by a different brand for another room where a 6-foot cable is needed. They've both been working great for well over a month now.

I've bought numerous cables made by StarTech over the last 4 or 5 years and I'm lovin' em! This particular offset cable is a great for anyone who, like me, has bent or broken a cable's connecter because of a single small drop of their phone while charging it. The enemy in this situation is "leverage". But because this cable only comes out around a half inch or so from the connecter and then immediately makes a 90 degree turn, if you were to drop your phone or tablet connecter side down there's a lot less leverage put on it. Don't misunderstand me because this cable is not invincible so there's still is a chance it can bend BUT it's much less likely to ruin your cable after just a small fall. This cable is made very sturdy but a couple of my older cables for one reason or another just weren't performing like I remembered. Now that's when cable's lifetime warranty came into play. I just went to STARTECH.COM, got their support number from the very top of the page and gave them a call. After just a couple prompts I was connected to a friendly and professional person who walked me through the very quick and simple process, answered all my questions and concerns and were very eager to please. It literally could not have been any easier. Shortly after, they emailed me a shipping label and some simple instructions in "plain english". The turn around time was around 8 to 10 business days which was surprising fast. Best of all they covered the shipping both ways. From my personal experiences I can honestly say that their customer support was and is unrivaled. Only wish I could remember who it was that originally referred me to StarTech so I could thank them.

Looking for 90 degree USB cables is more difficult then I expected since just searching for 90 degrees gives WAY more results left and right angles and not very meany up and down angles, but once again Startech has come to my rescue with their "Hard-to-find made easy" slogan! I bought these so I could hang a rechargeable USB battery pack on my bike and route this up to my phone on my handle bars and this works perfectly. It is plenty long enough since I bought the 6" long one, is not too stiff and even with the GPS and screen on the whole time allows enough charge to pass through from the battery pack to the phone to keep it fully charged. Some lighter weight USB cords I have used before are such a small gauge that they don't pass enough amperage to keep up with the discharge only slowing how quickly the phone dies but this one works perfectly and allows the phone to charge up even while under heavy use. (this also depends on the phone and the battery pack you use though) I wanted a cable that turned 90 degrees down from my phone when plugged in to help lower the chances of me leaning on it or putting pressure on it possible breaking the phone and this one does that without making a bulky 90 degree head at the connection which would kind of eliminate the advantage of it if it was sticking out as far as a cable that plugs straight in. Make sure to look closely at the pictures and think carefully about what angle you want this to plug in at since they can go 90 degrees down OR 90 degrees up because picking the wrong one for your device would make things worst! It also works for data transfer as well, but I only use them for charging. (Sorry for low quality pictures, my phone was in the picture so I had to find something else to take pictures with.)

Good quality cable, thicker gauge than the original cable that came with my cell phone which allows my devices to charge quicker. As an example my tablet would discharge even when it was being charged plugged-in using the old cable. Now that I'm using this one it is able to charge it a low rate but at least it is giving it enough juice to keep me using the tablet. Moreover, I bought this cable for the convenience that it would not kiink when whatever device is laying flat on the charging port. This cable the way the angle is, the cable will point to the front of the device and/or user.

I have an old phone I use on my nightstand to provide streaming music and ambient sounds and some white noise for sleeping. It's an older model that uses a micro USB connector and my existing cable was a little short and I picked up a phone stand for it so that it would take up less space on the nightstand. With how fragile micro USB connectors tend to be, I could see that the strain on the cable would probably cause it to fail quickly. This was the only one I found that had a right angle connector that would route to behind the phone. The extra length on it is perfect as well as it gives me more freedom to arrange the phone on my nightstand without straining the cable.
